hey adits,

the results of cet wont come b4 june...as the brouchure says that the score 4 cet wud come only after the gdpi... in that case how would ppl be shortlisted who decide to submit thr cet scores??

i presume they mite be able to get it directly from the DTE... but in dat case.. those who are shortlisted will come to knw thr scores... wont they?? am a lil perplexed....

plz clarify!

oye all!!

just adding a dash of xtra confusion to this chaos.

i got 80.41%ile in cat but feel dat i ripped dat bloody cet paper apart.(u never know when the tables turn though)

is it poss for me to give cat AND cet scores because in the online appn. process in the selection process link its given that Cat OR Cet scores will be accepted WHICHEVER IS HIGHER.

I want to specialise in finance. having gone thru the syllabus of both the courses i somehow feel that being a b.com grad(xams in 15 days)d mms course is slightly bttr in terms of courses in the second year first sem.(very few differences between the two courses.all in dis sememster)

neone out there who has greater knowledge than yours truly may please feel free to help.

CET results are going to be out on 20th June.
Welingkar is accepting CET scores and announcing their shortlist for gd/pi by April end.
That means the students applying to Welingkar will know their CET scores by April end( atleast a good estimate) while the rest have to wait till end of June

can nebody tell me wid 83.23percentile.....is there ne scope for me in welingkar.i have no calls till now :huh: and have already decided to retake CAT this yr.but still no harm in keeping a few doors open:oha:
also can smbody throw some light on ITM navi mumbai........or if there is an existing thread abt this inst....plz let me know

With that % you have a very good chance of making it to Wellingkar.
Last year ppl with 75-80 too got in...so your chances are pretty high.

two of my friends have XAT %iles 80 and 77..........is there any chance of them getting calls.........what's the approx. cut-off for XAT %iles.........

Hi Caprigirl

Welingker is a very decent institute located in the commercial capaital with a good placment record. There are some people who feel that Welingker's is better than KJS. Good infrastructure, Good Industry interface and good placement. For those who could not get into the so-called top 20-25, Welingker's is a decent option. It is worth trying in Welingker's.

As from wat I have known they do call.. each and every applicant.. whos sends in the application form b4 the last date.. They do the elimination in the PI list.. Is that not so PGs???

this is the reply i got when i inquired with welingkar abt how they would shortlist caddidates when CET scores would b out only in june

"We will be taking the best of the scores out of the two.

We will be collecting your MH CET scores directly from DTE in the month of
April ie. before your CET GD and PI rounds coz we consider only CET written
scores."

Sorry for the delay in replies, was outta town.

You are correct in presuming that we will get the score directly from DTE. This will only be the written scores tho'. Besides, it will be equated to CAT scores and scaled to 100.

Agreed that people will can have an idea of what their written test score would be but by that time, they wud have finished their GD/PI and so cannot do anything to improve. Besides, you will know the scores only around end-May when the final results are declared.

So, it does not make much difference.

Nope. Only shortlisted ppl will be called for the GD/PI/PT. Everyone was called last year 'coz of confusion with govt. regs. So, it was a one-time thing.

Update from Welingkar. Locations other than Mumbai will have the GD/PI in end April. Tentative dates are April 27 to May 3. Exact location specific dates will be out in another 20 days. Mumbai should be one week later than other locations.

Sorry for the delayed reply.

To give you a similar example, there was one guy with 6 years work-ex but Operations specialization. He is the one who walked out with the highest pay. This was a lateral placement.

The systems contingent this year was extremely small ( 3 people outta 240) and so cannot give you a correct estimate of how good the placements were.

To lend further credibility, the PGPeB course which has an inbuilt systems minor is the course with the best placements year-on-year since it started in 2001.

So I think it should be good for you.

hi is welinkar better than imi and fore?

also pl rate the course pgdbm and pgdeb?

about how much over and above tution fees, would be the cost of living?

should i take up the course,or start software work (not great salary or company)
and take cat again....got 87% and imi call but 30 th on waitlist
