as far as addmissions is concerned welingkars give call to ppl who meet their cut off criteria last yr i guess it was sumthing like 75-78 percentile
bt they give good weightage to Gd, PI and pshyco test and also ur form filling and ur previous academics anything above 60 perecent consistently is good fr the addmission
GD's last yrs gerenerally were on general topics like shuld GD's shuld be there fr selection, will india be economic power, 2 way communication etc.
PI ranges like mine was more on academics coz prof DR IYER who took my interview had a good knowledge of economics and i am frm the eco background so he asked me many questions related to macro, indian economy and other concepts bt there were few frnds of mine whom questions were asked on topics like ur work profile application of theories u learnt in the graduation and their relevance in the work and many other general questions. now usually the panel is frm the industry and few seniour faculty
so its usually the tuff fight at the time of gd and pi

as far as comparison frm other institutes is concerned u ppl can check with the various institutes like CL, IMS, PT and all

i wud say we are at par with KJ

Nobody is promoting any institute.... What we are saying is THINK twice before posting and when you do ALWAYS make sure that you back it up with FACTS.

Well kartik i think u r grossly mistaken.
The avg pay only is around 4 lakhs p.a. the highest being aroung 6.5 lakhs p.a.I can confirm i hv got frenz der. I have been 2 welingkars a couple of times the campus is great,small but great.Its in the heart of mumbai.Its only 5 mins from dadar n matunga station by car.Also its one of the fastest up coming institutes.Good foreign linkages too.
Welingkar's gives calls to People generally at abt 75%tile + score in CAT or MAH-CET for the PG courses.But for MMS i guess its much higher since it comes under the purview of Mumbai university.The process involves a gd first and pi as usual,but they also have a psycometric test 90 questions and 15 minutes{dont get scared its easy u can finish it in abt 12 minutes}.

Well i would say 75%ile is itsy bitsy....WElingkar in da past 2 yrs have been more of focussing on GD/PI/Psychometric tests...
even SP jain calls candidates with less %ile... tht doesnt make it bad or watever Mr Siddharth calls our institute..
i beleive welingkar is looking for more of all round students,.,
take my case... being an ebiz student.. my class of 60 has abt 70% ppl with work ex of 1yr and above......
so its more about the profile you have.. also if yu wud hv seen da prospectus the weightage assigned to CAT/ CET score is 100 rest 150 mrks for is for GD/PI/Psychometric tests... and remaining 50 for ESSAY questions/work ex and acads...
so all in all its more of an over all outlook rather than jus cut offs....
Comin to summers its an roll over process here.. companies keep coming...
my frnd Mahesh had already listed many companies who came to Campus for summers...
As for final.. welingkar is yet to come out with Final Figures for Placements.. but its way above 4lpa as some one mentioned,....
it should be arnd 5.5 to 5.75 lpa...
i shall post em as soon i can get my hands on em....
but ya... i knw the highest packages in Mktg is 7.0 lpa by MAQ software...
in HR is 7.5Lpa and
in finance is 7.5lpa by G.E Shipping
and in OPS i am not sure but its btw 6.5-7 LPA..

I have 85 percentile in CAT and i have good acads of 76 % in SSC and HSC(commerce) . I have completed my Mcom-I and I have 16 mths work ex. what are my chances of getting a call from welingkar and I also want to know abt PGPeb-biz what r its prospects. The welingkar Ad said they take both CET & CAT scores but the prospectus says only CAT:huh: .. and i know they take CET as well coz i applied last year....
many guys have answered to similar queries by saying log in and see in the form..ifi was to waste my id & password and find out that they only take cat...then i am screwed....
could somebody who has filled the online form please confirm that a CET score is accepted....
