what shud we write in the CAT score section......we have no score......the only score we have is in %age and wrt the highest scorer.......

i mailed the admissions dept regarding this problem......here is the reply

You will have to fill in your CAT application number which is of six digits which is there in your CAT admit card, also attach a copy of your CAT admit card and a copy of your CAT score card.

In the CAT score box you will have to fill in your CAT score percentage in the CAT score box ,if it is in decimal round up the number,Example22.23 make it as 023.

if u don't have another backup i would suggest buying the form ..if u r in mumbai u an wait untill the 1st to buy ure form as u could buy it directly from welingkar...otherwise it would be a risk .......... the last date for submitting the from is anwayz 10th april ..ATB

hi pgs!!
i had been 2 wellingkar's 2day. good infrastructure.
met the counsellor there (second yr student of pgpe-biz),. he said that the avg salary this yr is 4 lacs. he himself had been placed in tcs.
also 20 ppl of mms, pgdbm and pgpe combined were not placed as they had opted out or had some backlogs in mms.
the rest all were placed.
the pgpe course gets filled up first and the the dbm couse.
also the placemet oppurtunity is the same for all the 3 courses. there is no segragation depending on the course. these were some main points that i could gathere thru him.
total calls wld b arnd 2500.
seperate panels for gd and pi.
also an additional panel interview if u have opted for the pgpe-biz course as well.

Just to make a slight correction here. There is no additional interview for pgpebiz. The dean will go thru the forms of people who have opted for ebiz. This is a step to make sure that the class doesnt become all techie and nuthing else. i.e. better student mix in the class

me too in the same boat as u....my exams on till 2nd may....i askd thm the same qs abt dates n they jus told me last week of april or may 1st week....i guess i'll call thm up in a few dayz n also send thm a mail n request thm to gimme a date for the gd/pi after the 2nd.....thts is if at all im shortlisted.....ciao

As a premier B-School, We focus on selecting great talent that shows
potential. And the question we ask while we do so is: what is your
potential to be a manager - not how much you have scored in your written
test!

A completely new selection system

Considering the above, we are introducing a completely new selection system.
A broad based selection system which focuses on strong academic record, an
innovative mindset, leadership abilities, and a quest for excellence. We
accept students based on a comprehensive review of their application and
written test scores instead of minimum performance standards. The focus of
this selection is on:

Leadership Qualities

How does this new system work?

A sum total of all these qualities are what we look for in a student wanting
to pursue a PGDBA / PGPe-Biz program. Hence a student with a high written
test score doesn't guarantee a short listing as the student may be found
lacking on other areas on which the Institute lays emphasis. Alternately
students with a low written test may be shortlised if they are academic
performers / have exhibited leadership qualities / performed exceptionally
well on areas of the Institute's focus

So while this process begins with the short listing of candidates from
Common Entrance Tests which we accept i.e CAT, XAT, MAT (Dec03*, Feb04,
May04 * Dec03 candidates must submit their original mark sheet if selected),
ATMA (Feb04), there is no Cut Off score as we believe that the written test
alone cannot be the sole deciding factor in the selection process. To test
emotive aspects of leadership, decision making skills, ability to handle
stress, team orientation, group dynamics to name a few, we have added Group
Discussions and Interviews as a part of our initial round of selection. All
students who have applied to Welingkar will be called for a Group Discussion
and Interview round. Post this; a shortlist of candidates will be declared
who will then need to go through a final round of Interviews for selection
to the programs.

The Panelists

The Selection panelists for this process are practicing Industry
professionals, so in true sense the Selection Process is for the industry
and by the industry!. The group Discussions and Interviews will be conducted
in Mid May04 and the final round of selection by Mid June04.The course will
commence by Mid July 04.

The process leaves little chance for good talent to be left behind. Make

Check the entire thread. You will get all details.

Form sales closed on April 1, 2005.
Last date to submit forms is April 10, 2005

Then a shortlist will be prepared and those ppl will be called for GD/PI/PT. This will be in end-April/May 1st week.

i got a doubt ......in the instruction form of welingkar it stated that only the scanable form n the application form r to b sent .....but yesterday i received a mail saying that i got to send a photocopy of my cat score card......y dint they tell this before itself?......now i got to shell out another 40 bucks to send it thro courier....woder what else do they expect?

Let me set the record straight.

Requirements are CAT Score Card and CAT Admit Card, if you are appearing under CAT and the MH-CET Admit Card if under MH-CET. All three if you want to use the better of the two.
