XAT %ile: 99.64
GD was something about corporate ethics, only 6 people had turned up so the GD ran out of steam in about 7-8 minutes and was promptly shut down by the mods.
I was the second person to be interviewed.....don't remember all the questions....but posting the technical ones....
Q: What is communication?
Q: What is digital communication?
Q: Why do we prefer digital communication?
Q: Difference between digital and analog. (Explained sampling, quantising, coding, etc.....also explained difference between digital and discreet)
Q: What is noise?
Q: Different kinds of noise.
Q: What are the ways of removing noise?
Q: Something about digital electronics......about gates and stuff....don't remember exactly.
Q: Some usual HR questions.....why MBA etc.
Q: Something about dad's job.
I answered almost all the questions satisfactorily....pretty satisfied with my performance. Awaiting the results.....

Had been to Xaviers, Mumbai today. I have my GD/PI tomm. Had gone to drop a friend who was from outside MUmbai. Here are some of the GD topics of the day.
Privatization will help prevent corruption.
Finance Minister should be an MBA.
MNC in disguise are good...something like that.
The GD lasted 6-7 mins with max 8 ppl per batch. One batch had just 5 ppl.
The interview as usual were acads based.
Some questions asked(to engg. grads of )
What is OSI model?
Does Java support operator overloading?
Diff between TCP/IP & OSI? Which is better?
What are trusses & pulleys?(to mechanical ppl)
Some more gyaan & digs:wow: to mechanical guys on pulleys.
Went indepth with OSI model with IT guys.
A girl with 2 years exp had a cool interview with no acads question
The interviews were almost 10 -15 mins. Fr. Abraham the director of XIMB is one of the panelists so be careful

gd: MBA is given too much importance in india
very average performance.. only about 2-3 entries (in pi they asked what i thought... i said it was only average... i.e. my performance.. but i didnt really have much to say anyway)
pi was 85% academic and somehow they only asked me stuff i didnt know

was then waiting outside for srinivasan who had gone off with some prof (i was last for the day) and then fr. abe comes out and since im the only person in the corridoor sharts chatting.... finally he ended up telling me that xim-b is perhaps a better option than iim-i and why i should take xim-b.. their faculty, campus, no. of rooms in the girls hostel!! (wait a minute... are you marketing your insti to me!!!! :wow:)
all in all pretty decent.. i would say 6 on 10... feeling better about IIM I tomorrow now!
and yes srinivas will give u ur tie back

hi guyz.....had a pretty bad int n gd.....lemme tell d whole story.....reached 15 minutes late at the centre....(dah! this narayana jam in delhi!!!!)....by that time gds were over(punctuality man!!!!).....neways my gd ws then sched. with d afternoon batch......grilled like anything on acads...n y fizzix to management (im in final yr fizzix honours)......man!.they asked me to derive the expression fr escape velocity....i went blank....little bout hobbies.....n dats it!......no hopes frm it wotsoever....best of luck to all u guys n gals.......hey im searching fr SHRIYUKTA who is studying at XIMB.....deeds im nidhi ...pakhi's frend near ur house....u here??

they asked straight away...what subjects u have been taught?
Mktg Mgmt was my first answer...they immediately said...MARKET URSELF why we shuld take u..
then...ACADS...take any theory u have learnt n describe..i described the MASLOW's need theory..they asked me abt theories coz i had said that i had been taught theories in BBA..
then they asked...TIME VALUE OF MONEY...as i said i want 2 do finance further...
they asked whats SENSEX?
do u read newspapers??which one??whats difference b/w toi n et??
n then...some general questions..Why MBA??Why XIM B?

1 minute to windup -Final bell
On the board in front of us there were number of instructions
like parameters on which they will measure performance
Listening skills
Communications skill
Innovatiove thinkingLaterla thinking
Stand on controversial issues
Donts
Do no create noise
Dont disrupt anyone etc etc.
Prof read that
Few of my grp members didnt have paper.she asked for same.Prof said U shud have brough that though gave it.So please carry paper pen.
