thanks for da reply ...i kno ma percentile is low bt don't i hav ny chances of gettn thru xiss...i hav somwat good communication skills and an avrg career..can any one say wat do da guys in xiss look in for a candidate in da gdpi's..
Hi rishy,
Buddy u've got quite a gud chance of getting a call to XISS. And its reely gud tht u've got good communication skills. I reely hope u get thru. But u've got to understand one thing, in XISS the GD/PI are inclined towards guaging the attitude of the person towards rural management and NGO's. They try to find out how much serious is the candidate about this course. Thats where most of the people fail to click. Most of them take as just another GD/PI. But its not so. U reely got to have a clear thought process of why r u opting this course. I f u've got that, my friend u are there. U dont need to worry then. Im telling u this because i myself have taken up rural management course. But i did it from ICECD Ahmedabad. Even thats a good college. The course was of 1 year. And their teaching methodology mostly consisted of field work and case studies, which was fruitful. So, as u r interested in this field, no doubt XISS is the place, but also check ICECD out. Here's the link:

what are my chances of getting a call from XISS? I have applied only in Marketing. My graduation stream was Bio-informatics.. So in case if i do get a call, will that be a hindrance in the intervies ??? Kindly suggest

I applied for marketing only(made a mistake..should have applied for rural dev.), but they have called in total 438 students for PGDMKT(378 general+46 SCST+14 christian)..now how many seats do they offer in total for PGDMKT?????
I read on a weblink: Xavier Institute of Social Service (XISS) at Ranchi they have mentioned "Seats Available : 60 percent of the total seats will be reserved for the State of Jharkhand including 33% for SC/ST and 7% for Christians." So how many seats are there for general candidates like me??? Please reply if someone knows abt this

I too have the same query. They have called total for PM((1260 general+241 SCST+46 christian) Whreras they have total seats of 75 and in the prospectus it is mentioned 50% reservations,so wat are the chances of conversion for a fresher general candidate like me
And from their application form no. it seems they have hardly rejected candidates who have applied ,are there any drops outs of persons attending gd/pi?
