@uj d lunatic Good job there, posting the topics, its a head start worth working on. IMHO, if aspirants can speak for 10mins on each of the topics posted, they would have good chance for making it to the batch.

yes u r right...if we cn go through the list n try n see if we can make a short speech on each of the topics mentioned ...we can do like 5-7 topics a day n thn if we cn try to give 2 sides to each of the topic...for and against ... also the SPELT view to each topic ...whch means Social,Political,Economic,Legal,Technological point of view to each of the topics ...it wont tak much time ..and it wil help to sharpen our skills and will prepare us for any conditions..
yes i also dont knw y no seniors r replying on ths thread.... but my 2 frnds hv passed frm xiss and frm their exp i hv posted earlier tht topics will be very genreal and mainly related to social and current issues.... obivously as the gd season is goin on ur preparation till today is enough for the xiss and u dont hv to look out of box topics....so just keep reading and mostly its ur communication skill tht will matter at the end..... so in my view we shud nt woory abt the gd anymore and keep goin thru all the topics which we hv done till now... and for pi its mostly acads and simple hr question....as it has been discussed earlier ur inclination towards social service will attract the pannel attention so we shud try to see tht point tht how to link ourselves to it....
allthe best...
acads as in subjects i studied in graduation or it would be like what is your favourite subject 😃 pretty stupid question but I am not that good with all of them, just few like marketing, retail, HR

thanks pal, right said, a research shows that all over the globe only 15% of the candidates get selected in the PI for their content and remaining 85% for their confidence and attitude ;)
There's this guy called Jeff Skilling, he used to work for infamous Enron. When he was there at interview for Harvard's MBA program, he was asked, Do you think you are smart? He answered, I'm F****ng smart. And he was in..
I wonder if I say that to the dean of XISS, what would be the consequences. He may be unable to absorb my remark.
@uj d lunatic It would be a great idea if you or someone else who has been working on the topics for Group Discussion can post some points on the topics mentioned by you. This would help fellow members here to brush up with the latest and even work on in the right direction.

This is to inform that all the students of Personnel Management for scheduled GD/PI of 25th April 09 is being shifted to 27th April 09, and GD/PI of 26th April 09 is being preponed for 25th April 09.
hey guys i had appeared for xiss last year.... so hav got few experiences...
if u have got any queries then post here...will try to help u people....
Hi sudeep! Congrats for converting IRMA and SCMHRD !!
Could u plz throw some light on what sort of GD topics were asked last year?.. i mean was it diverse(social/economic/political) or course specific like PM candidates had GD with social issues or finance&marketing; had economic topics?? May sound silly question to u but i've applied to only 1 course, that's Marketing...so pretty worried and XISS my last hope :|
Also what was the average %tile of the candidates who were called for marketing? I scored 75 overall and 10months exp in DELL (Sales)...so what r my chances and what sort of candidates does the interview panel seeks, i mean the approach is focussed more or the profile and acads??
..gone thru lots of posts in this thread i feel that one should be focussed and dedicated towards future goals instead of being too much brainy, techie or aspire to make a better return on investment at placements. But still it would be better to hear from someone who had attended XISS last year.... Plz suggest
