Hi manjul manish i got 60% in Xat what r chances for PGDM finance frm XISS ?how was its placement,fees for same course last year?
I will be thankful to u if u reply me soon as i have got admission frm them now and last date to apply there is 8 feb.

Hi all,
This is to inform you people that the fee this year will soar and is expected to be around 4 lakhs, excluding, fooding, lodging and industrial visits/tours. Earlier,it was hovering around 2.4 lakhs..

u mean no xerox copy of maks sheet is needed...but in the form it is written that attach attested copies of marks sheet and certificates...!!!

nd there is no other center for gd rather than ranchi is only option
if you talk to placement it no so good for finance nd marketing.
however only rd have 100 percent placement and pm 80-90
finance40-50 so on marketing 50-60
and im only 4 is placed in last batch of 60 till now

i cant say which one is better coz both r diffrent from each other where pm doesnt have 100 percent placement but package r higher than rd.
and in otherhand rd have 100 percent placement where low2.4 abg 3.5-4 and highest upto 5-6. but pm till 10..if u want to know more refer to ayushman form he will tell better about rd

Well Ravi, its tough to quantify or choose, which one is better.
Myself along with whosoever from XISS is active in this thread have repeatedly posted that both the courses are different, with each one equally good, distinct & with their own benefits.
Ayushman has time & again given you the clear picture of XISS-RD and what it is all about.
I have also tried to let you you know about XISS-PM.
Just want to re-iterate it again, XISS-PM & its sheer course structure is distinct & far more advanced than most of the premier B-schools. XISS-PM department is well known and head & shoulders above from any top-notch B-schools when it comes to Labour Laws, Industrial Relations, etc,(which is the part of HR/PM course syllabus) because the foundation given here is extremely strong. The industries spread over in the entire nation, just because of this, recognizes XISS-PM students & that is why they are one of the most-sought for, when it comes to HR/PM functions.

My kind suggestion to you is that you go for any course, thinking beforehand, that what is in you that you can excel in this field. Until & unless your zeal and enthusiasm is missing & you choose a course just by the packages offered or the placement percentage, you will end up finding yourself doing a catching job in the later part of your career.

Please help me out.I had sent the form on 29th jan with all the requirments.But I had not mentioned DD details in the Form.But in the back side of DD,I have mentioned my details.Also I have the xerox copy of it.I had emailed them about this on that day only.I had called them also,many a time.But today came an email as a reply to fill another form and send another DD.I have all the information regarding DD.Please help me.Can any of you,check about this in the admission department.I will be out of station from 8th and it will not be possible to do all this formalities in a single day.

This was the real answer which i was wanting...PASSION....ZEAL....If u hv a passion for marketing than the one who is interested must go for marketing whether the placement is 50-60 for it doesn't matter...after all if u hv zeal for it than u can bag off campus laurels....Isn't it! Anyway if RD provides 100% placement but u don't like the trade then how u will prosper! That's the message!

Going by the trend, you will get a call, in all probabilities.

I had earlier quoted that the fee will be increasing, but its not official as yet. My source of information was from some quarters of admission department, however the administration(finance department) negated the possibility of any such things happening...
So, can't give you a conclusive answer in this regard,at this point of time..

As of companies interaction, especially for PM, XISS attracts the best of the lot. Believe you me, the students of XISS-PM are respected nation-wide. You better check it from your sources by people in the country in different organization, i am sure, you will not be disappointed.

Weight-age given to XAT scores-
If you will go by the prospectus, you have the break-up, but, i tell you something which all of us studying here have experienced..Your PI decides the fate of your selection..Add to that a good profile & higher XAT percentile..
P.S.- Higher XAT percentile never guarantees you a sit(check my previous posts)..We have in our batch, many students with 92+ percentile students & i guess three-fold of the same being rejected..

Companies name-
Please check my previous post(i guess after page 95-96), you will get the name of the companies & packages offered for our seniors..
Add to that list- Bank of India, Hindustan Copper Limited, Vedanta, Exide Batteries, Jindal steels, etc..

I asked about XISS from many people, everyone praised it. Earlier I havnt applied here because of its low cut offs, I thought college which calls at 50 will not b that good. But after hearing praise from many people, I have applied for PM. I want to ask one thing more, why this college calls at such low percentile. What is calls to seat ratio. Is it very high 10:1 or more??? I am unable to understand the reason for such low percentile. Dont take me wrongly. Many people even said it is better than XIME which calls at 80. Strange.

I can't stop endorsing my college now..
Personally, i respect every college & do not want to rate or give rank, but, honestly speaking, XISS-PM is head & shoulder above various top-notch colleges..Its not that it provides 100% placement every year, but then, placement of an institute is a function of the quality of students studying...Unfortunately, here the college adopts other means to fill the seats, which is always a heinous thing to do..
I tell you, last year, they called 670+ students for 75 seats of PM..
Or, in other words,37 seats are reserved for catholics, out of the remaining 37, around 15-18 are filled by different ways:lookround::oops:....So, realistically speaking you are fighting for 20 odd seats...
You talked of XIME & its cut-off, we have in our batch, around 7 guys in 90/90+ percentile..many in high 80s..So, you better conclude at what lies ahead..
As of low cut-offs, the college is very obsolete & orthodox in the way it works, it does not believes in advertising/marketing itself..Just to get the most out of students & a broad hetrogenous mixture of students(also to make as much as they possibly can through form sale), the cut-off is kept low.. But, i would warn you friend, don't be off-guard because of low percentile, its for different reasons..
