This is to keep you updated
of the placements in XISS this time around. The first phase of the placement season is over hence whatever being written in this post is not the complete scene of the placements.
In the first phase, we had TCS, Mahindra & Mahindra, ACC, CESC, Netafim, HCL Technologies, Shalina Resources (Dubai), Tata Steel, JSW, Vedanta Resources Plc, Indian hotels (Taj hotel), WNS, ICICI Prudential, Balmer Lawrie
, for Personnel management (It is now called as HRM)
Other department has also had good companies coming for placement although the companies were slightly less in number relatively
.
Packages offered (for PM):
Highest (foreign placement) - Shalina Resources - 30 Lakh
Highest (domestic) - Tata Steel, WNS - 8+ lakh
(Though, Vedanta Resources disclosed that after 1 year, they will be offering 9.2 lakh. That way, one can count Vedanta as well for offering the highest package
)
Minimum - JSW - 3.8 lakh:-(
Will try to keep you informed of the later stages of the placement scenario & the companies coming to the campus.

for 2011 passouts, highest: 10.x Lpa; average: 5.x Lpa.
Mgmt trainee profiles: to work on all aspects then placed internally depending on suitability/ company requirements.

If placement is the only target for you at the end of the course, then XISS-PM will provide you with ample opportunity
But yes, among the mentioned companies, half of them do have their criterion of throughout 60% and that too, they are quite rigid at the same
Join HRM, if you think you can make big in this field, my friend. Your inclination for the course, intent & attitude will drive you & help you bag a very good offer.

I am getting 22 - 26 marks in XAT 12, with VA - 15-20, QA - 3-4, DM- 2-3... Any chance for me in XISS then?? Is it the sectional cut-offs that going to deny me the chance??

Please take note of your source of information about the fees.
The fees in XISS for every trimester keeps on changing. But it hovers around 45000-56000 rupees (again multiply it by 6). Now, apart from this you will have 2-3 industrial visit which would cost you around 35000-40000 rupees. Apart from these, roughly 3000 for your uniforms, and 2000-3000 in here & there.

My knowledge of mathematics could not add the above detailed break-up to 5-6 lakh
Now, i could not see how people are giving you inflated figures of the fee structures:shock:.

Hi..just a small query...for the PI.. do you need to be aware of the general HR terms???...I am really interested in the HRM field..had to work in the IT domain for almost 3 years due to some family financial issues.. 😞 now that I am getting a chance to do my MBA, I would rather do it in the field of my choice unless there is a hopeless situation wherein I have to opt for another field of study...just wish to know if my IT background is of some disadvantage for being considered for the HRM course at XISS in case I get the call and have a decent GD/PI? Thanks in advance.. 😃

Knowing the general terms of HR before your PI would be of much help, because there has been instances when aspirants were asked questions from HRM as well:shocked:
A word of caution for you, my dear friend...XISS does not give much weight-age to work-ex, and when you have a work-ex of 3 years, i am sorry to say, they are least inclined to take one:|.
Had your experience been of around 1 year or so, i would not have said on these lines, but i have seen students with good work-ex being rejected.
May be they think that students like you deserve a better college:D:D:D

The placements in RD is at par with PM (HRM).
Companies like SOS children's Village, India Can Education, Srijan, Reliance Foundation, Jindal Steel & Power Ltd, Ekjut, etc visited the campus this year for XISS-RD.
