@SreeSharan.s said: IT companies coming in for profiles like Sales & marketing too, where they look for students who have IT Knowledge and also who have skills of Sales & Marketing. ( Here you can say Majority of the learning is around IT and Minority is around other fields)
I'm sorry, I had missed out on this particular point.. Sales and marketing profiles as rightly pointed out by
@SreeSharan.s are offered by the companies who require someone with the capability of selling or marketing say, an IT solution; meaning, that though your profile says marketing or sales, you need to have a basic understanding of the technicality of the IT solution.
As a student of this institute, I can tell you this much - you can come to SCIT from any background whatsoever but you will leave as an IT professional who is fully capable of management. At this point I would like to applaud few of my batchmates like a polymer engineer who has been offered a position of an ERP consultant in one of the BIG 4s, a chemical engineer who is into IT Risk and Assurance yet again in a BIG 4, a mechanical engineer who has bagged the position of assistant manager in one of the leading IT companies, another B. Sc. graduate who is into IT Risk and Assurance in one of the BIG 4's (and rest assured, none of them are from/live anywhere near Kerala or for that matter the entire Southern part of India also 😛 :D)
It all depends upon what your focus is when you join any education institution, if someone feels that paying money to a premier institution makes them eligible a job offer when they leave then I would say they have it confused with a departmental store.
Anyone who has a focussed approach towards MBA (not just in SCIT but in any educational institute) should focus on the following things:
1. Try to gain as much experience as you can by getting yourself involved in the projects so that during an interview you can speak confidently about it
2. Get industry relevant certifications in your stream
3. Learn from your peers. Try to improve your personality and work on your interpersonal skills
4. Educate yourself in certain unwritten skillsets like MS Excel, Powerpoint etc. SCIT will give you enough time and opportunities for all this (Recently, it was understood by the management that the students feel there should be some tutoring session for MS Excel. A completely free and open for all session was arranged immediately) We have also had 2 day workshops (paid) for Android Application Development (conducted by professionals from IIT, Delhi) & Ethical Hacking (by TechDefence)
Finally, anything that you want to achieve is your responsibility alone. What marks the difference between a successful and an unsuccessful person is the fact that the former was willing to walk that extra mile.
Once again, I urge all candidates to direct their quries to SCIT Admissions Team (but I'll only be happy to answer anything to the best of my knowledge and help you in making an informed decision)
