NO, GD is not the only selection round. Personal Interview is also involved in the selection process.
I dunno where u got this line from, but what is implied here is that during your interview, if u get a chance to guide the interview, then guide it to those topics in which u r comfortable and are sure of answering the questions

Good reading between the words. Can't help but laugh.
I think what u said was just meant to highlight ambiguity in the above line and not a serious remark. Because I can't think of someone who has come until this stage and is so oblivious of the selection criteria. Off course, they won't be sending half the candidates back after GD. Otherwise, why will they delay the result so much.

when Ill be grilled in academics will it be on subjects of my choice ?(fat chance , i can hear you say , but still )
I have a work ex of 31 months , will I be excused for being academically challenged ?
One last querry ... Are all Indore GD s case studies?

Now Ive run out of snaps of the type I used in the CAT application form... Is it OK if I put in another photo?

dude...... one way around this problem is if you have atleast one copy of the photo left... maybe you have pasted it somewhere from where you can remove it... even if it has some stamp on it, you can scan it and do a bit of cloning work and make it look like the original in 10-15 mins. now run across to any photo printing shop and tell them you want copies of it..... its done in most places.
if you have such a photo but have no clue as to what 'cloning' is, send a soft copy of it over.... i'll see what i can do. or even the photo printing shop will do that for you... at a cost, of course.
me facing the same problem..... but I dug into my cupboard and found one pristine copy !

you may be grilled on your acads may not be grilled on your acads...all depends on how you guide your interview and in what mood are the interviewers...generally they will ask you simple questions to test your basic...answers to which can be found on wikipedia...like me being electronics and communication engineer was asked questions on CDMA,GSM,rings on resistor to determine its value and stuff like that...you don't need to know the working of these things to answer the question...
and yes all the GDs are case studies... :)

Dude u are in a real soup now.....Guess the only way u have is to wear the same set of clothes....cut your hairs to exactly the same length....go to the same studio with the same back-ground, of course, n get another photograph clicked......
I mean, come on yaar....obviously they won't turn it down coz the pic appears to have put on another 500 gms of weight as compared to the prev one.....:wow:
....or becoz the colour of ur shirt has changed from blue to red.....All that they mean to say is that it shudn't be totally diff....as in don't sport "french beards", an "altogather diff hair-style" or dark goggles along wid a combo of the above two...
...such that it becomes difficult to identify you.....That's it.....We can trust the IIM profs with that much brains, can't we...??.....Sorry dude.....Juss cudn't help comin up with d pun.....(Groan marna chahe to maar de....)......

I had a hall ticket (Admit card ) photgraph with a goatee and longer hair. WHereas in all my IIM forms I put the photograph with a tie and a formal shirt.
SO the point of the matter is... what matters is its your photo.
What matters is how you speak in the GD....
What matters is how you face the interview....

I am a Software Engineer with 18 months workex. I am from Computer Science & Engg. background passed out in 2005.
What can I expect in my PI ? I mean, will there be much questions on my computer subjects which we studied in the college?
If yes, what kinda questions are asked from this background?

hi pranav really thanx for the information but i have time constraint problem, i cleared my c.a 3 yrs before, so its really hard to complete the courses for all the subjects in 15 days so i m trying to complete 2 subjects that is finance and income tax and accounting standards ,yup abt other question i will prepare myself to the best of my time

Me too a BBA and we have a few commerce grads here in our batch. Pls be prepared for questions on accounts, economics, HRM, any other management related subject expecally taxation and costing cause u r a CA.
At the same time be prepared for all industry data on ur business plus indepth competittor analysis, revenue structures, profits,etc
Have a very good set of reasons for WHy MBA and why CA, also keep clear short and long term goals.

I have an only call from indore. and D-date is 28th Feb , Indian Social Institue , Lodhi Road, 9:00 A.M. neone on the same date and around the same time.
another querry is , if i am allotted a time at 9 am then there must be around 9-10 other students within the same time slots since we wil be having our GD first. i am just asking to make sure whether i will be the one to be interviewed first or the timings are just for the gd only and we will be called randomly...
However doesnt matter much but still curious and dont want to be the first one to get disected.:neutral:
