Yep...Vipin muffed up a bit here...Normally any top B School (N MICA is quite easily in the top league) have atlst 60% strength of Engg...With MICA, its quite different...
N yeah...No one needs to unnecessarily quote figures of some other B School...Esp when the coll in question happens to b as prestigious as the gr8 JBIMS...(Mera Bombay mahaan... )

For Batch of 2007 = 89 / 120 = 74% For Batch of 2006 =83 / 120 =69% (In both case almost double the figure quoted by you)
and these numbers are not on "As far as i know" basis (as in your case), But the actual numbers

VERY LESS ENGINEER POPULATION? Do you call 25 in 73 students "very less"...its 35% of the first yr batch. As far as i know, this figure is higher than JBIMS current corresponding figure. And if u think engineers here are only dumbf***s and only half as good as others, the sooner u get real the better...

regarding the engg population it is rising right now but was even less earlier... i dont need a stupid argument on tht.. btw me an engineer myself.. so no offence... all i wanted 2 say was they smtimes show a preference 2wards them...

m also havin the same dilemma...CAT OR XAT....my overall score is not that good....a score of around 34....verbal,m gettin between 16 and 17...but not sure cos of the variations in the keys...wat would the percentile be like for a verbal score of arnd 16?..will it be above 90?...if it is,should i apply for MICA usin my CAT scores?

Point taken..thanx 4 the figures. I clearly put a Qualifier, u c, since my figures were for batch of 2005 from CL/Time website which I had visited at time of my gd-pi. The page specifically mentioned JB as an exception to the prevalent engg dominated batches in b-schools. i m in position to verify this info...hence the Qualifier.
Ref to JB was merely to accentuate the point being made.

baap re... ...ye chal kya re la hai bhai log...???? aaram se yaar...jackal bhai..shaant ho ja...read all posts of u ppl in this thread and found that all of u r on the same side of sanity...so why the scuffle...just wanted to clarify one point..that mica does NOT at all look at your verbal scores when inviting u for MICAT...whether va score plays a part in the final selection or not is something me too would like to know...but as far as getting the call for the second stage is concerned,no role at all..only overall...(moi got 60.XX last yr in va with 96.XX overall..and got a call..cudn't convert though...)...chalo ppl ..move in the right direction...nebuchadnezzar..
Can i apply using my last year CAT score's and this year XAT score simultaneously..as i heard that the best among three CAT/GMAT/XAT would be looked into..
If yes than shud i fill it in accordance with the deadline for CAT which is 12/12 or XAT deadline which is in Jan first week (coz by 12/12 i wudnt be having my XAT roll no.)
As has been addressed in the communications management forum repeatedly, You are allowed to apply simultaneously with scores from two separate exams (cat/xat)...However, you need to fill two separate forms for applications of different exams. Therefore, u need to fill the form with the cat score by 12/12 and the xat score application by the first week of jan... On the other hand if you are filling the form with two years of xat scores (last years and this years reg no) or two years of cat scores (last years and this years reg no), you can do so in the same form, and fill it before the deadline mentioned. In all cases mica will look at your higher score in consideration of a call.

u'll have to fill in two separate forms for xat and cat. in one form you enter your cat score, in the other form, your xat score. the deadline for sending the form with your cat score is 12th dec and the deadline for sending it with xat score is 7th jan. i think karishma too just clarified this point for manik. so please read other posts. also please check out the mica website as all the details will be given there. if u r really keen about mica, i suggest that you read the website entirely. it'll help clear a lot of your doubts.
