@sheikhms60pnb bhai jaan, working on saturdays(I guess half day) is not at all bad compared to working for just 5 days from 10am - 8pm in IT. Also, being at home, u enjoy luxury and time which has to be utilized properly to achieve your goal.

Hey i am planning to quit my job and start a sole proprietorship this year... will it be considered as work ex by bschools next year ??? ...I work in IT compnay and I do fundamental and technical research in equity markets on weekends..i have invested my money , relatives money & friends money and got them good returns ..so planning to start this venture only ..Will this be considered as valid work ex ? i will be working from home.
If you're registering as a sole proprietorship and running it as an organization then yes it will be considered as work exp. Even if it is just catering to your relatives investments only they will be your clients, but then yes you'll have to do all those registrations under Companies Act etc. for it to be considered a work exp. And there will also be a question in B-School admissions as to why you started it and then leaving it within a short span of 1 year.

I'm not sure what you mean here. You're already doing your MBA and completed first year, and now looking to quit and go for PO job? Or you're talking about job after completing MBA?

i m looking to quit the mba and want to go for bank.i cant extend my joining in bank.
@ajaygovindg plz guide wat i should do?
@binaravind ......... Yes,you can use it as an advantage. However in Bank, the danger of getting transferred to an unwanted location after 5-6 years always lurks around. I am not into Core Banking,I am just an IT officer so the transfers in my case are not that frequent, but still its not you who decide where you want to be Unlike in Private sector where u can change a company if it gives u a higher pay and a preferred location.
All being said, I realize that the job I am in is also sought after by millions and so i have started respecting it. I won't leave until i get something twice better atleast InshaAllah :).

Well if it looks the MBA is not going to give you the benefits you're looking for then its a risk you can think of taking. But remember if you continue with MBA, in short run yes it might be tough and you'll have to fight it out. The decision to go for PO might look good. But then a post graduate degree is always going to be useful in the long run and the growth prospects are also going to be better, but then again depending on your skill set and your performance.
@ajaygovindg thanks alot sir

Hello Seniors ,

I need a Suggestion From you Guys. I am a Computer grad -2011 batch. I am currently working in Vizag Steel plant as Junior Manager (IT) From last 15 months. before that i worked at TCS for 4 months as a developer. My current Job is very boring and i am not enjoying at all
I liked IT Job but due to frustration I joined here. But Now i am not enjoying it at all. What i should do now.. Not able to go back to IT due to my Current Job profile ..
So My questions are
1) What i should do if i want to go back to IT and whether it will be a Good decision or not???(Because this is a Govt Job)
2) What are the options open to Me with My current profile??
3) MY profile is
Xth: 75(Bihar Board)
Xiith: 86(CBSE)
B.TECh :9.44(out of 10)
work Ex: 19 month
Is CAT is Viable option ?
But My problem is that I never Participated in any cultural or Tech Fest in My college life..(Because what will happen when i will loose)
Never did extra curriculum activities..
Will this Profile My question whether CAT or MBA is a Good option for me .. Whether i can manage MBA ..
Plzz reply Soon ..

Waiting for Your suggestion what i should do next...

@amitranjan2311 MBA is not the solution to everything in life. If you really liked the IT job, switch to some IT firm after a few months (when you have 24 months of experience). Many of my friends have shifted after 2 yrs of workex and they are doing quite well.
@sb29 But My current Job is in a Steel plant .. and will It company will consider 2 Y Experience of Steel Sector??
@amitranjan2311 You mentioned that you are working as IT officer in a the company. I think it will be considered as relevant workex.
