@lopamudra0303I am not able to decide whether I should go for a job or an MBA .I am an engineering passout of 2012 batch.Job situation - FCI Paper 2 scheduledAlso SSC CGL n SBI PO to be taken, nothing confirmed as of now, will take 3-4 months for any sort of conformation.MBA situation - PGDM(core) BIMTECH, Gr Noida, CMAT feb 2013-258...expected GDPI calls- KJ/GIM....also, in dilemma whether to go for PGDM or MBA/MMS(Master from any univ)...skeptical about scope of both....one of my family friends raised the ques and am being haunted about same...according few my father contacted made him to believe that MBA/MMS is better than PGDM.. ..so thinking about applying to mms programs or IP univ delhi...kindly help me decide.....need guidance.....@Connoisseur25
my personal take...
1. since u r just a 2012 passout...there is no hurry for u to do mba..try get a better score n joing d tier 1 schools. In d mean time get soem work ex to ur advantage
2. there is no diff between MBA n PGDM.... MBA is generally given by schools afficiated to soem university n PGDM given by schools which r autonomous...all IIMs and other top b-schools give a PGDM...so its nothing to worry abt...scopes r same..d wordings in d certi doesnt matter as long as the school is good enough

non tech jobs as in? see...if u think that ur score in cat this yr is ur best n u cant improve on this then u can go for BIMTECH..however if u feel u can do better then wait for next yr..wud be my adivise.....
@lopamudra0303 i believe i can improve my score....but have a drop of a year already....so doubt that i would be able to justify 2 yr drop.....if i wait again......and non tech means here that jobs not in my domain....i am btech(Biotech) passout...so job scenario is not good in my field....also converted imt-n (marketing)....

Aspire to join 1yr programs of IIMS-A,B,C,L OR NUS Singapore However ,I have a peculiar blot on my CV. My First Company ,with whom i was with for 1.75 years ,terminated me on account of a fight i had with my manager(Jerk) who had for some personal reason put me in a non tech project in the last 6 months of my stint there.The initial 1.25 years were pretty good and i was promoted twice.
Now the big Question is whether i can count that 1.75 yrs of expereince or Not? I dont have any issues talking about it as i am pretty clear that i simply fought for something that was deservedly right .I do admit that i could have tried to resolve that conflict peacefully,But Tempers were running high at that moment in time,and i have absolutely no regrets. I need puys opinion as to whether that 1.75 yrs exp will be counted or will a MBA college try to give me the benefit of doubt in that particular Case. Would like to Add that have been part of 3 more companies Post that Company and my Performance and Conduct has been excellent. in a bit of limbo cos of the termination incident !!

i really hope so man..The confusing thing is i dont wanna hide anything...i would be more than happy to be open about this story.But the reality is when it comes to a single individual vs an organisation..chances are, another company/college will rather listen to the company than the individual ..

Chances of that happening= Zilch until and unless you give that estranged HR's number as a reference
Just use payslips to prove work ex and there will be no trouble.

IMO, they might check the latest company you worked for, but not each and every company u had worked.
Best part is that U got a job after your termination from your 1st company.
The same thing can be applied here as well.
So, just show the 1st and last pay slip.
PS. being human, its common to have a fight with the manager. ;)

Why do you care about what some your "cousins" say .. Its your life your decision .. life is about making the choices which you feel are right for you .. SAP FICO is a good domain and you should try ask some more SAP experts to get a full view :)

Hey Hi... I am an SAP-MM consultant and thats why in one of my previous post I mentioned that I dont fear that I wont get another Job..
Coming to your query.. SAP FICO is a good skill to have but it all depends on what role you perform in your project.
Since your a B-Tech guy, I assume you would have no domain knowledge in Finance.. Such guys are not taken directly into SI projects and they perform more of Support Roles... Because when your building a system, domain knowledge is highly essential.
Most of the FICO Consultants are either CA's or MBA or MCom Finance or something else like that.. and they are the ones who perform actual consulting and client facing roles.
So bottom line.. FICO is the skill in demand right now and you will never run out of Jobs once you have 2-3 years of Work ex ......... BUT an MBA in Finance will certainly be an icing on the cake and moreover it will help you in your growth in the Long Run
