@Vinpower87 Resigning would be a bad idea. For the following reasons:
1. Always good to have a back up, helps to maintain confidence.
2. You will have to answer, why did you QUIT!, in your interviews etc, which is not so easy
3. Putting in quality time every day will help you a lot in preparing
4. If your job takes up a lot of time/energy, getting a role change is always possible.
I didn't get the "various options" part of your post.:splat: How you prepare or your approach is best. when you decide per your comfort and level of preparation.
You may also look at doing certifications while you prepare for CAT/GMAT.
@bhaduriarchit : Thanks fr Replying
.
I have tried and failed in Getting a Role change in my present company and am not comfortable in switching the company just to get a better role and there by creating an expectation to work hard again. :(
by various Options i meant if i could quit the job and get into a part time job into Marketing or tele sales there by gaining exp as well as time to Prepare for CAT/GMAT. is that a wise option ? bcos i feel clearly the interviewer can judge that the 2nd job i take is a mere eye wash. I'm confused.

@Vinpower87 Yes, you are correct. The part time job might help you but, its definitely not going to help your profile. You can always put in extra hours at home, weekends will give you more time to study, while your job continues on its own pace. Consider quitting 'only' when you see no other option. Plan for the coming month and see how it goes.
My Academic Scores were always on the Average side.
10th - 75%(CBSE)
12th - 80%
B.E - 70%
Work ex of 3+ years in IT.
Will my Work ex work as an advantage to join the top Colleges or since i would be 4+ years by the time i join would it act as disadvantage ?

Im asking this bcos i am sure that MBA Colleges would try to maintain a average Work ex for better placements.
@Vinpower87 :depends sir, if you want to go back into IT sector in managerial roles etc after doing MBA ur wrkex will b added advtng. But if you want to go into core finc or mrktng wont be of much help imo
hi.,I finished my B.tech(I.T) in 2012 and then I have joined my father's business and working with him .I am planning to take CAT 2013.Will my experience will be taken into account.???will I be eligible for applying for good b-schools?
@j.gayu If you are on the fulltime payrolls of your dad's/your company, then your experience will count. Only thing which you would need is a work exp bonafide certificate on your comapnies letter head 😃
@bhaduriarchit : I have another doubt..As its my own company,how should I get the bonafide???can u plz explain?
Hi all,
I graduated in BE IT from UoP in 2012. I started working in an MNC in November '12 in which i was placed during campus rounds. Due to health reasons I am compelled to quit the compny now aftr working for 5 months. Also my job is very hectic and i am not able to cope up with CAT prep and working at the same time. I am planning to take up an teaching job after a month or so in an engg/poly colg. I am planning for CAT '13.
My current profile
10th: 86.80% MAH state board
12th: 88.17% MAH state board
BE IT: 66% (Distinction) Pune University
Work ex-5 months in IT
12 months teaching(expected)
Is it advisable that I quit and take up the teaching job or should i continue working ?
I again repeat that if i work in the same place it will be difficult to carry out cat prep. Please help with your suggestions.

@j.gayu You can easily get it on the letter head & in the usual format. Your Father or Company's manager can sign it. Else, your salary slips can also be submitted for work exp. :)

@bhaduriarchit : if u can hlp ovr this plz let me know.
@thinkaps :
My opinion:
I faced a similar dilemma last year. I have 44 months of work ex-IT(Still working)
and im sure many face the same, specially IT folks....
i will give u the advice my seniors/ frnds gave me.... Don't leave ur IT job...............
However difficult it may be, its still a job...
What if u dont make it in CAT 2013? u will still have ur job in hand n can give MBA a try again.....
Throwing away ur job wudn't b the best thing to do, in fact don't think of it as an option.... Ppl have gotten thru studying and working in IT and i'm sure u can too.....
and abt the teaching job- how can u b so sure that u will be less stressed out thr?
IMO- give it ur best shot, study after work everyday, study rigorously on weekends and u will make it 😃 if u still feel that its not enuf- take a few days leave from ur job and prepare (maybe 2-3 weeks or a month or so)
**IMP: CAT will get over in Oct-Nov(I'm assuming thats ur aim) n then XAT is in Jan... so in between u wud have 2-3 months... if u have ur job u can attend office rather than staying at home n whiling away ur time.....
@lio17 : thnx a lot for the reply !
frankly speaking i dnt want to leave my job but i am in a state that i am not sure if i can make it while working....i think i will go with wat u say, coz sitting at home wont pay me n even more will get me to a stalemate..thnx again.
and yes if u can suggest sme correspondnce course i can take for prep.
