I will be doing my MBA from IP university. planning from main campus. not planning for cat xat or other high grad exams as I do not have that profile. also I have tried that option.
my query is that kahi aisa na ho ki I do MBA and job prospects bad mein kam ho.
a)if i want to continue in same department after MBA,is 'systems' the best option for mba specialization..?(does specialization matter?)
b)what is the job profile ladder that i can expect with this specialization in a REPUTED company?
c)I am free for next couple of months before joining an mba b-school,will any certification in this period help me in the future?
Hi,I have 21 months of work experience in CTS as a Programmer. I was bored with coding and management roles attracted me.So,now I have few calls like XLRI-HR,IMI,IMT(waitlisted), TAPMI (converted).......So I would be joining MBA college. But, My dilemma is what specialisation I should choose I like talking with people, solving their problems, planning, organising so HR seems an good option.I also feel I have good marketing ideas and understanding but never used in lifetime. Sometimes,I feel since I have work experience in IT so I should take up MARKETING and SYSTEM as dual specialisation and target IT consulting jobs..How should I explore myself in these two months before I join MBA college??

If Yes, then you can very well make that exp in your own favour to get summers and final placements.

(2012)Work ex- small family garment business 3 years( but b schools wont consider it.)I have taken CAT this year but didnt get any fruitful result, now i am little double minded weather to do a professional study like CA or continue with CAT prep for coming season.I know both are very succesful degree/certificates ..but few negative things that are coming to my mind considering my week profile.MBA- Even if i get call from good colleges in the coming season how will i convert them with this profile, more over since both my graduations were in correspodence they will consider it as no work ex though i joined my family business later.CA- Mandatory internship for 3 years with less than 5k salary per month. Also this is the minimum that to be a CA it can take 4 or 5 years to if i dont clear it in my 1st attempt. At present my age is 25, so even age is also not in my side.So kindly help me seniors, people who have gone through this, people who are at similar condition or anyone. Thanks in advance.
1. my entire work-ex is as Asstt. Manager in the sales deptt of a telecom PSU. but I don't want to work in sales after MBA. I'm interested in IT/systems specialization. what kind of profiles can I get during placements with Sales work-ex and IT/systems specialization. or is it better to do specialization in Marketing?
2. I'm more interested in a technical than a managerial job. In my company, all roles are technical+managerial in nature but the work conditions are difficult (6-day week and lot of field job under harsh conditions) due to which I want to change job. Is it possible to move to technical domain after MBA (systems)?
3. my current CTC is about 5.7 lpa. In the wake of “iim confessions”, inflated placement figures and considering the current placement scenario, is it better to go for better paying jobs in other PSUs (like BHEL, NTPC, ONGC, IOCL etc.) than leave job, invest 2yrs and huge amt of money for the MBA. can there be significant value addition in terms of job profile and salary through the MBA course?
Pls advise. thanks.

Hi Admin team and Junta,
I need your help in deciding which specialization to go for while doing my 1 year MBA. I have a 3 years of experience in business research and consulting. I am a person who is good with numbers, not very innovative, thinks logically, can mix up with people easily.
I am confused between Finance and Marketing. Please let me know about the things and characteristics one should have to go for these specializations. I have observed that most of the students in top colleges other than IIMs go for marketing, maybe because very less finance specific roles are offered in these colleges.
Eagerly waiting for your insights.
Kind regards,
I have a work ex in teaching for 4 years in private engineering college. If I pursue full time MBA from any local college (B.K. school of management, Gujarat-through CMAT), will my teaching work ex b a deterrent to my career further ?? Will it be a correct decision 2 pursue MBA at dis stage dat too from an average B-school ?? Need help....Kindly advice !!
