Which are the best colleges for Master in Finance in India ?

@mayankleo_1

what is your academic background?

I graduated from KJ somaiya with MBA in international business. Also, I appeared for CFA Level 2 this saturday. Looking forward for further studies, but I dont think anyone would entertain someone who already has a MBA

I have completed my B.E. in Chennai in 2007 with 84%, 10th std CBSE - 88%, 12th std CBSE - 82%. I worked for around 3 years 8 months in Chennai and later in Bangalore as Software Engineer. Now I am from Chennai - married and having a kid of 2 years. I wrote my CAT this year and scored 81.95 percentile. I have applied for very few institutes being currently unable to travel farther from my family. The main question of the panelists in interviews was about whether I shall be able to handle my family and studies together and though I had assured them about support from my family regarding my studies, I had been offered part-time courses instead of full-time. They have mentioned that my age was a major criteria and when I complete the full-time I shall be at the verge of 30 years whilst the other students might be 24 to 26 years maximum and the campus interviewers may consider my age as a major drawback.

I am interested in doing a full-time. With more time and efforts, I wish to give my best shot to all Management entrance exams this year. I have decided to travel and chose colleges even from longer places to widen my options. But another year is another year and many of my well-wishers warn about my time. Is another year worth a wait or should I take up the part-time course and pursue a job? Please give me a clarity as to how should I deal about this - as to age is concerned?

  • Wait and try for a full time MBA
  • Part-time MBA this year

Hi all.
Recently I've completed my B.E in I.T. from gov. college of Gujarat. Because of my insincere study and evaluation technique of university I got 6 CPI out of 10. It's very obvious that I's not eligible for the campus of very prestigious companies. Though I've attended campus of small companies and couldn't make it in favor of me because of my little technical knowledge. I'm not interested in coding at all.

Now something happened recently...I got a call from InfiBeam for the post of BAB delievery executive. They reached me through my resume posted on Naukari.com. I went for the interview and cracked it. They are ready to give me salary I told them I expected from them. They made it very clear that it's not an IT job. And I also knew that very well.

But...the problem is...I'm about to give my very first attempt of CAT this year and I'm worrying about my profile. I am worrying about that is it good to go with this offer.? Would it be a drawback in my profile being an IT pass-out...? Is this work-experience will be counted in my PI...? Is this a good job to do...? It comes under in sales department so will they allow me to choose any other specialization in MBA.? What should I do...? Join it or wait for another small IT company (Though I don't like the work they'll give me to do)...Very much confused...Help me out here seniors...

I am about to take admission in a tier 2 b-school,to be specific one of the b schools in TIME's BBB category list(I am sure most of you must be aware of that list). From placement point of view something has been worrying me alot these days.Puys who have passed out or are in 2nd year of their b school and are aware of the placement process kindly help!

The thing is I have 2 backlogs in my UG😠(btech),though I managed to get a decent overall final percentage(75%).I just got to know that when companies come for hiring they have a criteria that the student shouldn't have a backlog in UG.I knew that they ask for more than 60% in 10thand 12th.I have 85 and 65 respectively so never worried about the criteria thing, but after finding out about this backlog issue I am really worried!

I would be really grateful if u guys could give me a clearer picture.Which companies ask for no backlogs in UG? Do most of the good ones have this criteria only? I'll be taking a loan for my MBA.If its true that it'd be difficult for me to get well placed coz of this backlog in UG thing,I request u all to be upfront about it to me or else I'll be in a huge loss later. I am thinking of taking finance or HR as my major@abhimukh19 @avinashkrjha @visionIIM-ACLand other puys,do share ur views

Hi Puys..

Not a dilemma.. may b just need a reassurance form seniors..
I have converted IIM-Indore.. I am working in an IT company since the last yr..earning some 30k a mnth(despite being form an NIT, chose not to opt for core jobs..and hence had to settle for IT and the salary). have a decent academic record.. Now to pursue my MBA... I'l have to take a loan of 15 lakh+ and will have to repay it all by myself.. no family backing as such.. and considering that the placement scenario hasnt been all that great recently.. Is it okay to get myself into such a big debt..so early in my career!! I know its an IIM and all.. and I know how difficult it is to get there.. i am just a little scared of the hugee loan! Need opinions of people who have already gone through this situation..

hi puys ! I just left my job @ NTPC Ltd. as an Assistant Manager. I managed to score 97.97 % ile in CAT 2012. Landed up with calls from new iims - no converts so far.

I am in real trouble. I still can't figure out what i want to do with my life. At times, i think of trying to move in the financial services sector...prepare for CFA and all.

Then, I think of writing GMAT and applying to ISB. However, those thought are dimmed by the fact of having no job, hence no shot at interview.

Lastly, I think of applying for jobs at random.

I graduated from IIT Bombay with B.Tech in Civil Engineering. However, i have loathed civil engineering ever since the beginning and am not very keen on pursuing in this field.

I request you all to kindly provide me some advice as to what i should be doing. Thanks all for your help !
