In dire need of help to have my dilemma cleared. Got a call from Great Lakes,Chennai PGPM. For that I have to submit 1L on 6th and 15L between 19/03 - 03/04.
Now my results for IIFT(bleak chances)/IMT(good chances) are awaited.
Also my MDI/XLRI (HRM) interviews are lined up on the 5th and 6th of March.
Now would it be wise to invest 1L and initiate the loan process for Great Lakes and go ahead with the installments given that I would definitely want to opt for any one of MDI/IIFT/XLRI if given an option.
Also does anyone have any idea as to how much time does it take to get the money refunded in case one opts out of the application process?

Also I have 2 years of exp in IT... today my manager offered me a long term(2-3yrs) onsite role in Australia.
Which has put me in a dilemma if I should join these colleges if I get Selected or Should go onsite spend 3 years and then target ISB n likes.... (dont have much commitment if I will be able to do mba afyer 3 years)

I left my IT job in march 2013 to work on a startup.(Wrk ex 33 months) But unfortunately within 6 months our group broke apart due to differences & our startup failed..... I chose to prepare for mba entrances after this. (first time) But couldn't crack any of the top 30 colleges. CAT - 87 , NMAT 2 attempts 180 & 200 , XAT - 81, CMAT Feb - 97.67 , MAT 97 , ATMA 92 ....Last exam CET , it was also dismal but a little hope is there of getting a decent score.
I don't know what to do now. Am staring at a 1 yr gap with nothing substantial done. I think I will go for MBA program if my CET score is atleast able to crack top 6 colleges in mumbai.
But if score is below that , my future looks bleak. What should be done now by me ? ... Should I take admission in any bschool CET gives me or should I go for some courses/certifications and fight out yet another season ? !
My interests lie in 1. Systems/IT 2. Finance 3. Operations/Supply chain. (priority-wise) ... Please help...

I want to know with work ex of little less thn 3 yrs .. should I join NMIMS .. or should I take GMAT and wait for another year ..

IT companies are major recruiter on campus but generally they prefer IT workX, rarely they take non IT people. How can crack such companies? plz Help

I have a work ex of close to 4 years(IT). Unfortunately Cat'13 was not that good. Got rejected at SPJIMR, and awaiting for IMTG and XIMB-HR results.
Now I'm confused whether to take up IMTG if I convert, due to it's batch size.
My PI with XIMB was not good so, I don't think I would convert it. I'm apprehensive about HR, and my interest lies in Operations/ Consulting .
@visionIIM-ACL I'm ok with writing CAT again, but what bothers me is my work ex, as it would be close to 5 years next year. And the outcome of CAT is never predictable due to the normalization process. Is it worth giving another try ? I'm planning to take GMAT as well, I'm aiming for ISB. Your inputs would really be helpful.

But the Problem is till i get admission i will have 3 years of GAP in career ..so just wanted to in what way this will affect my admission in good MBA colleges and Placements..

Hi all, I competed my B.E degree, Electrical and Electronics from Bits Pilani in 2013 and immediately started working in a reputed VLSI (IT Hardware company). I was not able to give CAT/GRE that year because the company's work load was huge ( late night work +weekends as well)
This year my company decided to downsize the number of employees in Hardware department and therefore laid off 100+ people. I lost my job too. I am vastly disillusioned by VLSI industry and want to go for MBA. Should I join an NGO and prepare simultaneously for CAT or Should I take up another core job (Knowing well that I don't want to continue core work) or possibly, should i join a company like TCS, Infosys so that I can get time to study

Hi everyone. I have given CAT twice but could not make it into the top bschools. Recently i have developed interest in data analytics and learnt about MS in Analytics in US. @visionIIM-ACL and other sirs.. i have given cat multiple times, i didnt fair well , the calls i got in these many years was just one call from nm in 2011(didnt convert) and imt gzb - dcp (convert - didnt join)
2011 and 2013 were my only serious attempts. Now i am sitting with 21 months of work-ex (I.T) and my age is nearing 26 (this june). I am doing good in my technical field but it would take years for me to have some business visibility without another degree.
I would admit that giving cat has kind of scared me due to multiple failures, and this time it went really good but the result.. really was different from what i thought it would be.
I am an ardent fan of marketing, the thing that people with work-ex don't make good marketing professionals and are not placed with the companies detriments my dream of a sales stint.
I am not sure what should i do, i am accepting i.t. as my fate and moving on and learning technology. But i want to make better of my life.Please suggest,Does being on the higher side of age affect my professional life after or in a B school or my work-ex would actually be a negative for my profile in sales and marketing.

I'm a physiotherapy graduate. I completed it in 2013. I gave CAT 2013 and got 83 percentile. Didn't get a call from any of the b schools I applied for. Now, I've a year gap. I'm looking for a job but I have not found one yet. If I won't get a job then I would be staring at a two year gap. Can I do a language course or any other course like that to prevent another gap year or is work ex absolutely necessary?
I'm planning to give CAT again this year. Please guide me on how to justify a two year gap as gap year is a red flag for the interviewer.
Is it a wise decision to give CAT again or should I go for an average b school?

In a lot of confusion right now! My profile X-89/XII-73/Btech-70+ 2.5 yrs work ex in IT. Scored 98.5 in XAT/96 in CAT i couldn't convert XLRI/IIFT this year. Now I have a Great Lakes PGPM convert which starts on 18th April and an IMT waitlist#83 (Should convert). I had always wanted to pursue my degree from an A+ college. Suggestions on this plz as I need to respond to the Great Lakes call in a day or two.
Other options I have right now:-
1. Continue my career in IT and try for GMAT this year as I have little hopes from CAT given my prolific academic achievements which keep haunting me.😠😠.
2. Join govt job as Excise Inspector in Nov(already selected) and give IAS a try.

I have converted BIMTECH Greater Noida (PGDM Core) and IMT Nagpur (PGDM).
My profile: X - 89%(Matriculation) XII - 96.67%(State Board) B.E CSE - 79% Work exp - TCS 19 months ( Salary when i left TCS was 3.69 LPA )
Specializations: Definitely won't choose Finance
Other options: 1. IIFM (Yet to attend the interview) 2. BITS Pilani MBA (Waiting for results and hopeful of converting it) 3.IFMR (Keeping my fingers crossed and hoping for magical 2nd list) 4.SCIT (WL 18)

1. BITS Pilani MBA Vs BIMTECH Greater Noida PGDM (Some say BITS Pilani but many say BIMTECH)

I am trying to crack CAT for last two years but could not get a good score, this year I had a call from IMT-Nagpur but didn't joined. I have done B.E. Automobile, 2012 pass out, but could not get a job in my field of education and so for one year I did internship at various organization like worked at a automobile workshop for 2 months, Electrotherm for 2 months, and at a Film Making Event for 5 months but for last 6 months I am working with my father in his trading business. But I badly want to do MBA ,preferably MICA or from any good clg in India. But I have doubt even if I get a good score in entrance will they consider Family Business as work-exp. Plz reply puys should I try again or give up my dream of doing MBA.
