Even If you get jobs related to Sales and Marketing from Bschools , is it true that you need to go and do sales in the Sun at the starting of career? This question may sound stupid but one of my friends told me this and got me confused and tensed..Actually what kind of work one will do at starting of their career if they get Sales and Marketing jobs from bschools ?

Hello. I have been working in FIS as a test analyst and having 2 year of experience. I want to do something better to make a strong career but i am not sure where to move. Should i go for MBA? Are there other options out for me? Please suggest and guide me. 😃

Hi,

I have a work exp of 40 Months in IT sector in Software Testing.I have decided to Join BIM trichy to pursue my MBA.I have certain doubts in how to shape my career going forward. It will be kind of you to help me clear these doubts.

1.I have inclination towards Marketing, but it has been said that with the experience in IT sector it is never possible to get into the Marketing domain. If so is there any role I could perform in the IT industry by specializing in Marketing domain?

2. What about HR? Will this work exp hindrance those chances also? What kind of roles will I fit in If i chose HR as specialization?

3.There are consultants in my company who interface between the customer and delivery team.It sounds like this is the only best option for me even though I'm interested in the previous roles. In what areas I need to specialize to become a Consultant in IT sector.

P.S: Please keep a note of the college I have chosen to do my MBA while answering the queries.

Many say MAT scores in the 600,700 etc.Can anyone tell what is the total score in it ? And as i have heard most of the good Bschools will br filled up admissions with Feb MAT is it true ?, so what abt MAY and SEP MAT ? Will there be good colleges vacant at that time or getting admissions after writing FEB MAT is only good ?

Hello,

I currently pursue a liberal arts UG programme, BA in English Literature.

Only lately did I realize that my interest lies in the domain of Management, especially finance.

Is a transition from Liberal Arts to Finance possible?

My concerns are that,

1) I lack a Business/Engineering/Economics UG, is that gonna hurt my candidature at Bschools and be shunned by recruiters?

2) Can an above average school-level math student take on the rigor of MBA Finance's Maths?

3) Your opinion on Amity's Online Diploma in Business Management and Wharton's series of MBA Foundational MOOCs offered via Coursera, can either of the two act as a bridging course betwen my Liberal Arts UG and desired MBA PG? What do you suggest, Amity's Online Diploma or Wharton's MOOC(Taken as paid and verified)?

If you'd like to have a look at these MOOCs, their links are as follows,

https://www.coursera.org/course/accounting

https://www.coursera.org/course/finance

https://www.coursera.org/course/operations

https://www.coursera.org/course/marketing

How is the recognition for such MOOCs in India? Bschools and Recruiters opinion? Anyways MOOCs are fairly new, they've come up only in 2012 or so.. will a paid and verified MOOC such as the above portray me as a serious candidate?

4)How about Claritas Investment Certificate?

If you know anything that you think I should get to know of, please feel free to share it with me through posts or personal messages...

I'm in such a dilemma please do direct me if you could.

Much of thanks!

i got 98.8 in CAT,didn't got any IIM. I got admission only in IIT kanpur.I have 33 monts of exps as software manual testing engineer.I am in dilemma whether to go or not;

how to start with CAT perp !!!!!!

Hi, I am new to Pagalguy and I need some help with MBA preps. I have never attempted an MBA entrance before and this would be the first attempt. A brief bio data is as follows:

1. B.Sc (Computer Science) graduate with 5 years non supervisory work ex.

2. My experience is entirely into back end HR service delivery and recruitment for US and sometimes fr India too.

3.Currently employed by one of the Big 4 (Google that)

4. Academic record: 59% in grads and around 60% in 12th, though I am not that bad and the scores purely reflect my interests in the subjects especially Maths.

5.No interest in Human Resource per se and want to change my domain.

6.I love projects. I like project management , developing strategies, transformations etc.

That's about me in a nutshell. Can someone please help me out with what kind of MBA program should I be looking at? My reason for an MBA would be to move on from foot soldiering onto a more strategic role where I can really make an impact in the industry.

An additional details:

Worked on two self initiated projects with the aim of improving the work life and user experience of colleagues and clients. One was accepted and the second I will be presenting shortly to the management.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi all,

I am an electronics and instrumentation engineer 2014 pass out from just another engineering college. 10th - 90%; 12th - 91% ; Grad 68 % and no job . Planning to appear and give a serious shot for the coming MBA entrance season. Seeking help regarding following queries:

a) Should I go for any job and keep preparing side by side for my entrance or keep my self fully engaged in the entrance preparation now that only four months are left.

b) How would working in an NGO boost my profile and will it be worthwhile to join an NGO than joining any ragtag job for that matter.

c) Is teaching in any coaching institute counted as a work experience and is this work experience better or worse than joining an NGO?

d) Say I sit in an interview in coming feb. then would it hurt my chances in any college if I am to explain myself for sitting idle this whole time?
