My brother has got 62% in 10th CBSE and 49.5 % in 12th State Board... Now currently he is pursuing BE in computer Science first year, second sem ... My doubt is , many companies ask for consistent 60% and above in 10th and 12th and graduation for jobs and placements ..But as he has got just 49.5 % in 12th , will it affect his campus placements or his search for jobs in anyway?

Most of the IT companies like TCS Infosys and even wipro requires consitent percentage throughout 10th to graduation minimum 50% but it depends upon institute to institute..Dere he may face prblm.....But having said that dere are many companies specially product based which just looks at your graduation.though they have a rigorous procedure for selection like written test, intrvws.but still des thngs are in ur hand which can be cracked with dedicated studies in graduation.I would suggest its better if he concentartes very hard in his graduation and gets good mark dere. This will also open door for Higher studies specially MTech from IITs,NITs etc thru GATE.....

It completely depends on companies....many companies like these info, tcs ,tech mahindra, ibm and all requires consistent 60%....but there are many companies which dont follow this criteria.....most of the companies believe and test u in their rigrous selection process ...the company sees is the candidate capable of solving their issues, can he give good productivity ....all companies doesnt foolow that criteria so chill:) .....there are many good companies where u can earn more but for that have to do the interview properly especially their technical round....so best of luck:)

It depends upon company to company. IT and ITES companies like TCS, IBM, INfosys Etc..... asks for 60% throughout . That can cause some problem for your brother. But there are a number of companies that only looks into graduation score:). Tell your brother to work hard to maintain a good CG. he will definitely get through it.
There is a small minority of people who do a dual masters degree. Am not sure how many guys do a MBA after a ME, but I know a few people who have done a Masters before going for an MBA. If you can defend yourself well (the reason for doing two masters), there is no reason why this will turn out to be a negative point. If anything, you will score more points over others since a masters degree has some weightage in the selection process of many colleges..
Actually i m not much interested in technical side...due to some issues i had to join M.E which i would be finishing of this year...but after doing M.B.A would i get any extra profile value or would i be at par with guys who join after B.tech??

Most of the US B Schools atleast 15-20% students have an advanced degree already prior to MBA,so it not uncommon. But it is advisable to have certain years of work ex after your M.E/M.Tech before you apply to MBA.
i am B.tech (civil) graduate from vellore institute of technology..passed out in 2010..i wanted to persue mba but couldnt manage in that year due to some issues..
following that i joined M.E program at Bits Pilani in that year as couldnt waste 1 yr for preparation by sitting at home..
but till now even after completing M.E i still think i should have done MBA..
1. would it be fine to prepare and apply for mba now?...are there guys who do MBA even after M.E?
2. do colleges accept such guys or it may be a negative point for me during interview time.
since my academic background is not that ground i particularly aim for top private institutions.

PLEASE HELP...
First of all who told your academics are not good...they are enough to be eligible for a top most company with good profile.....See a candidate having an extra degree or extra certification it will help him out any time....its not a negative thing but a positive one....yes offcourse u can go fr mba if u r really interested in investing more 2 yrs of your time in mba.....during your interview time just you have to justify y u have taken this step tats it ....attitude is must dude if you can impress the interviewer by your facts and intellect then you are in with a big package .....all the best dude:)

I am doing Commodity Trading for the past few months along with some other friends whom i know ..We are a group of 3 people , and we have taken Sub-Brokership and doing this Trading as a business ..I myself an BE graduate from Anna University age 23,another guy is a Bcom age 21 and another person who is nearing 50 and the one who thought us about Trading ..Now i know how the Commodity market moves and have been pretty successful .. I was thinking whether , are there any courses which can lead to a Job related to Trading in corporate companies ..
I heard that MBA in Finance has some subjects related to trading , the Forex Markets etc ..and what kinda jobs do MBA finance grads do , anything related to this ? and as i already have hands on experience on Trading , these things are not dry for me , these things excites me ..so is there any course or something which can make to have a job related to trading ... and , lately i came to know about the word called as Wealth Managers ..( Who manage wealth of their clients ) ..Is it also related to Trading ?
I want you guys to enlighten me in this regard ..
Thanks
You can go for NCFM certification course which you have to attempt module wise in frequent intervals .....it will really boost your career in Trading....
Hello.... If you really have interest then go for it but in IB Job prospects become very narrow as only import -export firms and companies require these kind of profiles .....Companies like Tata steel,Tata motors etc as they deal with foreign clients but very rare .....so in my opinion Ib reduces your job approach very much ...so u take your call....atb:)
Hi..I am 2.5 yrs work-ex engineer in a reputed IT firm.I am very much interested to pursue MBA-HR .But i can at max prepare for CAT2012, not beyond that due to personal constraints. Can someone please help me out to chose the best option among those listed below.(Any new suggestions are also welcomed:)))
1)Join NIRMA this yr for 2-yr full time program.(Desperate to leave IT and this this the only option this yr) 2)Prepare for CAT2012 and aim TISS,XIMB,IMT-G,etc.I know my capabilties and it would be difficult for me to make to top B-schools with job.(Should i move to RMG role in my organisation to do some HR-related work as i feel IT work will not add any weightage to my HR profile in future. Also ,not interested in IT work ) 3)Apply for XLRI /IIM-C satellite program.

Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
First option seems the most logical.Join NIRMA. Without Job preparing for exam would just create a hole in profile for sure whereas securing admission in top b school is not sure(Evaluate yourself on this point).
Joining satellite program is not recommended because most institutions especially government mention full time MBA.
There is a specialization called general management in many colleges Can any one tell me what exactly it is? What are the various profiles given in this particular domain and what exactly people do who specializes in this domain
Similarly, some colleges offer a specialization called Strategic management, what exactly it is, how is it different from general management
hi everyone..... i need ur argent advice guys,,,,,,,,i have decided to take RETAIL management in BIMTECH as against MARKETING & SALES in AMITY,NOIDA.....is this a right decision?? plz help me as the last date is fast approaching!!! plzzzz...
First of all sorry for this long post but I need urgent advise so someone pls urgently reply as I want to take decision within one week only
I am 30 yr old working as admin executive at private company, scored 49.5% in b.com & less than 45% in m.com, I m not eligible for institutes requires minimum 50% aggragate & not eligible for CAT too. I had six years of experience.I worked mainly at admin level as CSR & academic coordinator & counselor at educational institutes. I appeared for MAT in Dec-11 & scored 8.33 percentile. Got call letter from many institutes but all of them are costly & full time. I dont have time & money now for full time mba or pgdm. So decided to go for weekend/e-learning MBA or PGDM. I think part time/weekend/online MBA/PGDM is better than NO MBA/PGDM. Atleast it would be useful to me in some way & I would learn something from it. No education is ever a waste I believe. My preference is MBA with HR. My budget is maximum 1.25 to 1.50 lakh for full course not more than that. I inquired in many institutes out of which as per my budget, eligibility & preference I shortlisted following institutes like 1) Amity university, 2) IMT Ghaziabad, 3) Symbiosis (scdl), 3) Narsee Monjee, 4) Sikkim Manipal, 5) AIMA e-learning through Hughes Net Global,
Out of all above, only sikkim manipal offers 7 hours weekend lectures at its study centres, while AIMA offers e-learning thru hughes net global. On Saturday sikkim manipal have 3 hours lectures while on Sunday 4 hours lectures. Total 4 to 5 lectures for different subjects on weekends. They let me attend demo lectures on Sat.& Sunday & I found lectures quite interesting however crowd (other students) wasnt great or hi-fi but lectures were quite okay. And in Sikkim manipal you also have to submit 3 assigments per subject in each semester & project & viva will be there in the end of course while at rest of institutes except aima & narsee monjee, neither assignments nor projects only exams at end of semester. Only sikkim manipal provides MBA and rest provides pgdm. & sikkim manipal promised to give placement assistant.
I read horrible reviews of imt Ghaziabad (imt-cdl) on net. However as for brand name, I know symbiosis, amity and imt may look better, but they only offer correspondence, & I didn't like their study center & counselor attitude & whenever I call main office or admission or student support numbers they never pick up. But sikkim manipal has actually good services, their study centers much better than imt, their counselor seemed answerable, their work is particular, I have visited their centers multiple time and talked to their customer service, they are the only one who atleast pick up the phone and provide information unlike imt or amity. My neighbour is doing from sikkim manipal and he has good reviews. I read good reviews abt narsee monjee but their admission will start on june-july but they too give pgdm and only correspondence, no weekend class or placement assistance
But still I am super confused and can't decide which one to pick out of IMT, SCDL, Amity, Narsee Monjee, Sikkim manipal, or AIMA e-learning thru hughes net,
I am more keen on sikkim manipal and aima e-learning,
But now I am confused which one to pick out of above two sikkim manipal or aima, so pls help me suggest out of two and if you think symbiosis or other mentioned above will add more value than sikkim manipal then also pls tell,
Few more querries
1)Now since I will be studying distance learning which degree/diploma will be better - MBA degree or PGDM diploma 2) Should I care for brand name like symbiosis or imt or should I care for weekend lectures that only sikkim manipal provides but only problem sikkim manipal don't hold brandname as good as symbiosis, imt, amity & narsee monjee, so what is more important brandname or lectures? 3) Should I go for AIMA e-learning pgdm through Hughes global net. Do e-learning from Hughes has market value or not? or sikkim manipal is only better 4) AIMA e-learning or sikkim manipal, which one I should pick, pls help, if you think it is better to go for any other as per my eligibility and budget, then also pls suggest.
I need urgent advice as I want to take decision within 1 week. Pls answer to my question above Pls anyone don't suggest me icfai or ignou
