i'm confused between mtech and mba.......
i'm a btech 2011 pass out and prepared a year for GATE for pursuing m tech at iits...but i scored gate with 96%, with this score i could only get admission at any of the not good nits which i never wanted.
Now the situation is i have also converted fms-bhu(i'm from varanasi)
whether i do mtech or mba i am comfortable with phd and then teaching.
Problem is that at nits placement is nill.....while at bhu i will be having a chance of getting placed.
i know it is an odd situation but plzz guide me...i would be thankful!!

can anyone please provide me with the names of recruiting agencies in india which specializes in placing foreign-degree ( from good universities, let's say, among top 120 times higher edu world uni rankings ) holding indians with no work experience?

also, are there enough it jobs in delhi? or should all foreign-returned it job-seekers march towards bangalore??

thanks in advance.

as you said your chances are better at fms-bhu than lower ranked nits atleast in placements..but placement shouldn't only be the driving force to join any program..another option you have at hand is join an nit and prepare for psu's(a general sentiment among the north indians I have found-its just an observation)

Buddy you must be knowing that there is a concept of earning 200 credits out of a total of 214 credits in IPU. That allows you to leave 3 subjects but having said that, you should try to clear all the subjects. If you happen to clear all the subjects, that you appear in, by the end of this sem, you'll get your degree this year itself. You would then be able to appear for CAT and I dont think it would be any issue. Its just that some B Schools may have an eligibility that candidate should have cleared all the subjects(Though I'm not sure on this part).
I'd like to add that one of my batchmates dropped one subjects and he is currently studying in FORE. So, for now focus on clearing all the subjects that you are appearing in for this sem and prepare for CAT after that and give it your best.

Hope that helps 😃

First of all who told your academics are not good...they are enough to be eligible for a top most company with good profile.....See a candidate having an extra degree or extra certification it will help him out any time....its not a negative thing but a positive one....yes offcourse u can go fr mba if u r really interested in investing more 2 yrs of your time in mba.....during your interview time just you have to justify y u have taken this step tats it ....attitude is must dude if you can impress the interviewer by your facts and intellect then you are in with a big package .....all the best dude:)

Thanks a lot for your suggestion...but would it be good for my career profile since i am from a civil engg. background...

moreover i have got a teaching job as assosc. prof. in a particular university.till next year admissions i would be there..would that count as a work experience??...or shall i look for non-teaching jobs to make up for work experience..

Thanks utsavgambhir for reply 😃

Vishal@ See Vishal whenever a company asks for experience they mean to say that the profile which they are offering you have worked upon earlier thats it....and this is not possible for many candidates especially for freshersso no worries....wat do u think ppl having years of experience in sales but applying for finance profile it coldnt be counted as relevant exp but yes a type of work ex dats it....after grad no company would provideu perfect core area ...so as you are in non teaching part its ok not a issue but dont sit idle ...sitting idle and preparing for something is a big blunder made by students....if you are getting any other job except bpos u may join or else carry on with wat ur doing.....dont look for money now gain exp in future you will encash it dont worrybuddy...atb:)

Iam a newbie here and i think my previous post might have been misplaced . Apologies for my ignorance. Here i go again

Iam BE Prod Engg from DCE . I had been interested in biology since begining but chose for Engg and made it to Production Engg (Deptt of Mech Engg)
Now iam working in a software -Mech hybrid environment . I want to do MS in Biomed .
I want to know the prospects : employment wise
Also how much i will have to learn .
Many MBBS guys go for this course and without any exp in Bio since Highschool i know its going to be all uphill , but is there someway to make it .
They also provide bridging courses for students with different background but how much are they helpful .
I dont want to end up wasting tonnes of money for the sake of chasing my interest . kindly advice .

You belong to 2008-12 batch. Right?

1. There is no point in extending the degree for few months. If you give the back paper in December 2012, Result will take a few months and you will not have your full result and degree with you at your GD/PI in MAR/APR 2013 even when you belong to 2012 batch.
2. You will not be eligible for NMIMS.
3. You will not be eligible for job till 2013.

Better leave the subject and get your degree on time. Because till now i havnt come across a B school that asks for all subject cleared.

i dropped a yr 2 prep 4 mba exmz..may not get d desired colleges dis tym..should i tk up a job or settle 4 one of those mediocre colleges cuz m not sure if itz possible 2 improve score while working..experienced ppl plz help me decide..m really confused..:-(

Its better to join a Core company. You're from production Engineering and you would get the opportunity to use and show your learning of Engineering in core company.Join IT sector only if you're very much interested in coding and all.
PS: please don't use SMS Lingo. Its very difficult to read the post.

@sanjay kumar.
The sole reason behind my interest in joining IT sector is only because of its better growth rate as compared to core companies. Is it so?

@Chandan Kaur

Even i am working in a core company close to 4.5 yrs.
As far as my observation goes for core companies:
1)The job profiles will be different, you will get to do a mix of technical and man management jobs. If you are in plant jobs then you will hv to manage people even twice your age. That will impart on you a sense of supremacy. If you are in love with your technical subject and can relate to it then you will love the type of jobs and challenges associated to it
2)Do not expect AC Room and cubicle type jobs in Core companies right from the beginning, though you may get one if you are in logistics, designing etc...but mostly jobs are a mix of field and office activities. So work will involve physicaland mental load
3)Your growth will be much fast paced ( on condition that you are working hard in the initial phase)as the crowd here will be less, so you will rise fast
(P.S: In my 4.5 yrs stint i changed 1 job and am nw working as Assistant Manager with salary much higher than many of my batchmates in IT)
4)The salary may be low in Core Companies compared to IT, though there are many companies whose starting salaries are way above that in IT companies
5)Your CV will get distinguished from the huge pool of IT guys right from the beginning wrt to MBA applications, though later you will hv to prove yourself in other rounds

Now the ball is in your court.Hope i could help you.

Hello puys I'm from Mumbai ...I too have serious qstn from my side to ask the ppl who are experienced and willing to help me .
so i have completed my BE from mumbai last year ...I'm self employed ...we provide technical solutions and my role in to my company is of analyst kind of (getting requirement analyzing them ,working on design etc)
now i'm confused what i'm suppose to do...y'day my CET result came out and according to last years statistic i might end up with sydenham or welinkar
but real dilemma is what specialization i'm suppose to choose coz the work i'm doing is interesting and i actually like it but what might help to follow my interest on bigger level ?
and i know un professional work ex is not gone count so what are all parameter which most of the company in B school follows during the shortlisting the CV??

HI puys

But i am in dilemma..

Should i join or i can try for CAT2012 as my dream coll are

3. IIFT Delhi

I wish to do MBA only in operations.

12th Percentage - 94.6
B.Tech CGPA - 8.1

Shall i try for one more yr or shall i join BIM?

In dilemma..

Help me puys....

I THINK YOU SHOULD JOIN BIM AND THEN TRY FOR BEST PLACEMENT IN BIM.

YOUR PROFILE IS VERY GOOD AND I THINK YOU WILL DEFINITELY CONVERT AN IVY LEAGUE COLLEGE IF YOU SCORE HIGH IN CAT. BUT YAAR ITS UNPREDICTABLE AND REMEMBER a bird in hand is worth two in the bush. PlUS L&T; IS VERY UNPREDICTABLE COMPANY THIS YEAR YOU MAY NOT GET ENOUGH TIME TO PREPARE. I AM ALSO AN L&Tiet;(2010) and left it in nov 2011 as i was being forced to work 15-18 hrs a day with sunday's included.

All the best mate. Make an informed decision.

Can someone tell me if Sikkim Manipal is a genuine university. I hope it isn't fake. Is it really approved by UGC? Sikkim Manipal University claim to be UGC approved but then when I checked UGC website I couldn't found its name anywhere under the list of ugc approved universities but in one page I was surprised to see that UGC has put the name of Sikkim manipal university in the public notice about private universities. Why have the UGC put its name under public notice under which they mentioned the following :

"It has come to the notice of the University Grants Commission that some of the State Private Universities have affiliated colleges and started off-campus centre(s) in violation of the UGC (Establishment of and Maintenance of Standards in Private Universities) Regulation, 2003 and against the judgment of Honble Supreme Court in case of Prof. Yash Pal & Others vs. State of Chhattisgarh & Others. Some of these Universities are running these Centres on franchising basis also which is not allowed."
