Buddy iam totally aware of this thing....but seriously iam so doubtful about my exam with job side by side...........there are certain other parameters in my life due to which iam thinking this much..........and even if i work i would be working for not more than 5 months as my family is relocating back to my hometown in coming months.......so thought of doing a course till cat exam...and once iam done with cat i would be starting hunting for job from november onwards !!! As of now i just want to concentrate on prep,ither course and extra curriculars.......so that i improve my profile on other parameters......correct me if iam making a mistake !!!

In my opinion , MBA is a want not a need and is not that important to completely change your life for one goal .. Loads of people prepare for MBA with their jobs and are successful in life .. But then again its a personal decision , if you dont see any growth in your job and you feel u cant manage both .. then its ur call , go for it atb ..

I appreciate your advice buddy 😃 ....Iam a complete fresher passout of april 2011 ( A gap of one year already)....No work exp....so inorder to bridge that gap i need to work or do a course...Even if i take up one then i have to leave it in 4-5 months because of family relocating factor........what growth can i expect in 4 months ?????? so i thought of doing a course till CAT and after cat i will take up a job.....am not against job...Due to all such factors my mind is not stable and relaxed.......and i dont want to add burden to it with job just for couple of months at this point of time......now can you suggest me one this 😃 ????

As far as SIBM Pune is concerned its a very very decent institute with very good brand name to its credit. As far as your dilemma is concerned then remember that MBA will occur once for a lifetime. So you need to be satisfied with ur decision and there must be no looking back once u take the step forward as that can affect ur MBA course studies. Only if you are 100% confident of getting a very good %ile in CAT(you knw the unpredictability factor here) thn only skip SIBM this yr. Had i been in ur shoes i wud hv gone for SIBM.
what is the difference b/w pgdm core ..and pgdm fs...
As in if a student has opted for pgdm core with 2nd yr specialisation as finance... And a person has opted for just pgdm fs....then ..in which stream will he gain maximum knowledge..and roi wud b better in which 1...?\
aALSO ---PGDM FS --KJ SOMAIYA OR PGDM - E BIZ--WELINGAKR....WICH1 IS BETTER?

But i will b joining vedanta resources from august starting....... I have not intimidated the joining place but m very much sure dat it will b in sum rural areas....... As I m hopeful of decent percentile dis yr along wid calls from many IIMs(m just hoping guys:-)) So d real dilemma is dat how can I prepare for GDPI during my job where I will not b having any access to any decent coaching institute....... Really need advise,,,specially from anyone who have faced a similar problm n conquered it..... Thnks guys.....
Hello! I am a 2008 B.tech (Mech.) pass out from Jamia Millia Islamia. Since then, I am working with Doosan Power systems india as a Mechanical Engineer. In 10th i have 87.4, 12th 85.0 (CBSE), grad 8.56/10 . I have a avg. extra co. record. I have nm core mumbai & scmhrd (IM) convt. and rejects from mdi, sibm. I got 94.18 in cat (Pretty lame i know).
I have a work ex of almost 4 years in hard core mechanical design company. But want to make my career in the field of consulting or strategist. Now, the thing is I am very much confused whether to go for nm or give GMAT and go outside or for ISB? Is nm a good option for me at this stage of career. I still haven't given GMAT. Please help!
Am deepak from chennai Here goes my acads Xth 89.6 Xiith 94.1 BE (EEE) 78.4 Work ex with L&T; 22 months My season this year is over with a XIMB WL which is likely to convert. Had XLRI BM call. Didnt get through after what i thought was my best PI this season.Dont know what went wrong. Very disappointed after XL result :( Now i am left with two options - XIMB this year or another try next year. I felt this year my CAT score(93) did not do justice to my ability as i have never scored below 95 in mocks and also my XAT score (99.77) is indication of that. Adding to this, last yr i had got 98.8%le.without prep andhadn't applied to any coll cos i didn't expect this much :( At the same time with CAT being so unpredictable i am worried what if the same happens next year too.Plus already i have 2 yr work ex with L&T; and will have 3 by the time i give CAT next yr . Also my current job is pretty boring and i am clear i want to quit by july ( my 2 yr bond ends then) . trying for market research n consulting jobs Also thinking of gmat. Too many thoughts disturbing a troubled mind :-) Pls suggest me ur views. I know its A personal.choice but would.like to get as many views as.possible

hi.. hey try for CAT man ... see you cant spend rest of your life working as Engineer.. every year 10 million Engineers get churned out from every permutation and combination alphabets engineering colleges ... wats makes u stand apart from them is ur PG... an MBa from IIM or any tier 1 or tier 2 B schools will add edge to ur resume .. mind u nobody is gonna reinvent the wheel ..ppl speak R&D; is next thing yadda yadda talk..but nothing is greater than creating jobs for the masses which business does and mba helps ppl in that ... did i talk too much !!!!?????

Its not too big of a problem. You have the whole world of internet in your doorstep( not to mention PG which alone is a ocean full of treasures in case of MBA entrance preps). As per as live sessions/trainings in GDPI are concerned then you can definitely find coaching institutes in towns near to rural areas. If you still find difficulty or are unsatisfied then you can take a break of 1 month or so from job(citing some health reasons of yours or relatives etc)and take training in any good insti in a city. If you hv too many offers in your kitty then you can also quit your job later to prepare for GDPI and gv ur best shot.
But what will be a problem is to come regularly from small city to big ones to gv the exams. In this case do take 2-3 days leave before the exam and come to city beforehand.
I can say so coz i hv faced similar problems. At times it can get hectic but the net result will be worth.
For now channelize all ur energies in exam preps.All other things will follow and take care of themselves.

I hope you will be able to sit for clearing all backlog papers before u pass out.
Also be ready with your explanation of diminishing acads.....you need to have a very good explanation.
There is no harm in writing cat...do write it judge yourself...prepare hard ...achieve what you want....
