My academics are just average in X 68.8. XII 65.4 Btech mech 66.06.
following which i did 6 months apprenticeship at ISRO.which was very boring.then i joined shriram finance as a management trainee and after 1 year i was appointed as assistant manager for sales where i worked for 4 years.
then after 4 years i joined tata motors finance as Buisness development manager where i worked for 1 year.
following which in 2011 i joined a dealer of kirloskar gensets and pumps where i have been working as assistant sales manager for 1 year 4 months.
right now i have taken admission for NMIMS blore exec-pgdbm.and have resigned my job.is it possible for me to get into FPM in IIMS with my academics.what is the cat score required for getting into FPM.I would like to research in marketing.If not IIM which other institutes offer doctoral prorams based on cat score.
I would like to be paid during my research period.following an FPM i would like to works as a professor in a reputed management institute.
kindly guide me.

In need of some serious advice.I am an Indian IT male working as an ABAP developer in Bangi.I took CAT this year(my 3rd attempt) and got a lowly 94.66%.Bagged some decent calls but dinged by all. Right now i am in a dilemma.My profile is also not mirror cracking.
10th 2001 80%
12th 2003 64%
B.Tech 2009 78%.
I have a 2 years gap after my class 12 which is a big hole in my career.I know this profile wont fetch me an IIM call even if i get a 99+.I also know that top colleges like XL,NITIE,MDI give only weight-age to CAT/XAT score on short listing candidates.But what after that.I am really low on motivation to go for the grind and ace CAT with a 99+ score.I dont want to harbor false hopes.As you all know serious CAT prep takes a lot of effort and need sacrifices from the work as well as personal front.If i pull the shutters down on the MBA hope, i can concentrate on my technical work and make a career out there.
But in my heart hearts i want to do an MBA from a premier B school and make it big in life. Will it be worth again to take the gamble and chase the erratic cat or should i make peace with my life.am already 26 and time is flying, i need to catch up.
hope i ve made my position clear.puys please advice.multiple opinions are more than welcome.

Right now i am in a dilemma.My profile is also not mirror cracking.don't be demotivated....and an MBA from a top college will be worth any and all hardships which you may face...go hard for CAT 12....if you get an excellent percentile....and do well in GD/PI...you can get in any of the top instis...except a few IIMs....ATB !!

with 94.6% u didnt convert calls means u either applied for very few colleges in AAA category.could have applied for some AA colleges which u could have easily cracked.u definitely could have converted tapmi, IMI,IMT

As long as you believe that you can do it there is no deterant in your path to do MBA as for your profile IIM C is one where you can get the call by scoring 99+ percentile from ABC other then this L is also there and others you have mentioned yourself you need to know this that MBA is not everything and many people have done wonders without it too and as for your age I dont think its an issue as long as you dont have any other personal plans related to it hope you got what I meant so its your priorities which you need to decide and follow the way to achieve it whether its MBA or your technical field..Hope it helps to sort out your dilemma .ATB for your plans ahead..

yaar ye toh panga ho jaega matlab 3 saal tak koi paper nai de paunga na hi cwe2 or na hi sbi or na hi SSC
par bhailog main 1 saal se ghar mein baitha hun jo ki ab nai hota mere se . meri posting bhi ghar se 1 gali dur hai yani mushkil se 50m dur mere ghar se advantage hai pass posting ka or maine pata kia hai ki posting 2 saal tak nai badlti
ab bato main kya karun ?????
is wale ibps mein mera koi chance nai hai kyunki mere marksheet nai mil rai , toh matlab hua ki agar main orginal de dun toh mere university ki marksheet duplicate nai niklngi toh dikat ki baat hi hai yeh

To an outsider it is easy to simplify ( not to say that it is not a complex situation)
DO YOU HAVE THE PERSEVERANCE, GRIT , APTITUDE, WILLINGNESS, FLEXIBILITY IN MONETARY TERMS to take more competitive exams ?
If you feel that your answer is Yes . Skip the opportunity. Go for something better!
If you feel the answer is No. Join the Bank . Work for 3 Years . PLan for after that!

I have a convert from IIM Ranchi this year. Should I go for it. or take CAT12. This was my 3rd attempt.
My acads are not great. 89/74/58 in 10th/12th/B.E. resp and Hence we can easily rule out A and B in the older IIM segment.
Presently I have about 16 months of workex in Public sector Bank as Probationary Officer.
Please help

I have heard it for the first time that a Bank is asking for originals. Confirm it from the HR and ask him/her about it in written and whether they will give receiving or not.
& about posting. POs can be transferred anytime anywhere.
Still if you want to join, ask university for a duplicate. They should issue you a new one.

Its illegal to take anyones original marksheet,Call up the HR personnel and clarify.If ur regional head is stating so HR personnel will be able to help you.try to join and avoid giving marksheet.siddhi ungli se ghee na nikle to ungli tedhi karlo,try to prolong submitting your marksheet.so that the matter dies down.

Take a job first and then think about other situations.
Dropping 1 year for CAT is not justified and believe me you could not give enough attention to CAT preparation if you're not employed somewhere.
So,I would suggest you to get a job which gives you enough time to prepare for the CAT/XAT.All other things would fall in place after that :)

With your not such great marks in 10th and B-Tech,I'm not too sure if the older IIMs would call you.So,you're left with other good colleges like MDI,NITIE,IITs B-Schools and newer IIMs.Some of these colleges I've mentioned doesn't give too much emphasis on past acads and you'll have a realistic chance of getting the call and a convert.Some of these colleges gives extra weightage to work-ex too.
So,stop worrying about your acads.Focus more on your strong points and try getting excellent score in CAT.
Your profile is good if not great.Worrying more about it would only make you lose focus from your preparation.
