By quantity yes it will be , but quality wise , you may need to conceal this later during your interviews :)

1) Yes your work ex will count , dont worry about the same ..
2)MBA typically is done for changing one's career domain , so dont worry it wont be counted as negative .. Concentrate on CAT 12 now . Atb

I'got job offers from CFCL, kota as assistant manager after training (1 year) from campus placement and in the company where I did my internship as a web developer, the first one a core job and the second an IT job.
My dilemma is that neither of theses jobs are of my interest. If I cant find one of my choice by June end I'll be joining CFCL. I've always wanted to work after college and do an MBA abroad after 2-4 years from an Ivy League School with a scholarship (*dream*). I have done some finance related electives in college and they felt pretty interesting and the money would really help me and my family in the future. I was thinking of singing up for CFA if I'm gonna work in CFCL since I ll be having a lot of free time, plus if I clear levels 1 & 2, I can apply for finance related jobs (in India & abroad) after 2 years also. I want your valuable comments and guidance regarding my career path and options that I can pursue right now.

3. 18 batches have already passed.
4. Best Institute of Goa/Better campus life being in goa i guess
Disadvantages:-
1. Decrease in Avg Placement of 2012.
2. Increase in annual intake.
3. Location
4. High Fees

1. Brand name.
2. Less batch strength
3. Location Advantage
4. Impressive Companies list put on website.

goo with GIM, although it's avg has gone down it will provide you with choice of specialisation which is very essential factor, since u taking a loan GIM will b less costly.
Also IM of SCMHRD is a new course and very niche as well , if you Ur intrested in Infra Mgt then opt for it...
GIM will provide you with broad horizon..

would it b better to switch to calcuuta univ.
i did my grad. in 2010 and if i join calcutta univ. there would b gap of almost 2 year

I dont think it will make a difference going there , you are much better staying in delhi NCR better chances of getting employment here ..
Since you have already studied here for 1 year , complete ur MBA and try get a job .. 5-6 years down the line you can aim for an executive program if you need to improve your profile
Prepare for exams like Bank PO and other govt jobs .. Since they take a year to make a final call .. you will pass out by then ..

i have done my graduation from mumbai university but have scored less than 50% aggregate ...is it possible to opt for mba from any of the institutions in india preferably(pune and bangalore)

Few things to consider as suggested by a few friends i asked
1) 2 Years Gap will be difficult to Justify when sit for placements in 2014
2) Placement is not very lucrative , but i am not sure how it is in your present college
3)Location delhi still gives u the advantage , you should be able to find a job outside of college if not inside
4)You are going to use 1 year into what you have already done ..
So think about it .. If i were you i would very cautious in taking this step :)
PS: You can rather utilize your time to build your profile by some additional certifications which will help you make your profile more attractive

Definitely aim for a job. Its always better to get a few years of work ex before you try for CAT. You have decent acads, hence you can easily get calls from IIMs later on.

Hi there, I have done my BE in CS from MU, and working for last 1.5 years in TCS.
Like many others, I went through a period of self analysis and found that my core strength seems to be in Arts fields even though I graduated as a First Class Comp Engg.
Now, I'm wondering whether I should apply for an MA program? My interests include Psychology, Writing, Teaching etc.
Have any of you made such a switch successfully? What is your experience?

Though mba is a good option i dont want to take a desperate step and take admissions into just any MBA college. Assuming that I get quiet a good percentile in CAT (somewhere around 99.5 or more) what else should I do to ensure a place at a good MBA college, or at least increase my chances into getting into one.

I dont think you need to do anything in particular to get into a good MBA college. Just perform well in your written exams and GDPI and you should be in. Of course getting calls from institutes is a different thing altogether.

Yes, you can go for MA program if it is there where your interest lies. People have made similar switches in past and have been successful.
Just do ensure that it is not your short term interest and is what you want to do in life in long run. :)

Since you have uncommon work experience, i will suggest to focus only on preparation and score high to get calls from top 15-20 B-Schools rather than divulging your attention to other things in the name of profile building.
People with core work ex like yours just need to score high to fetch calls and rest things shall fall in place if you have decent GDPI.

hiii puys,i am kaushal.i have completed my graduation B.Tech(Biotechnology,biggest mistake of my life and also the biggest learning incident) in 2011.I gave CAT in 2010 and scored 63%ile,dropped one year,got a job in a fake company "Arjun Infoservice"(was told during placement that it is a marketing job and later came to know that its KPO job).After working for one week in June 2011,I left the job.I took coaching in TIME and prepared hard,cracked IBPS although score was only 136 and in CAT 2011,I scored 88%ile and although my acads were low(10-77,12-65,grad-7.03),I got calls from New IIMs and IITs.I got rejected in all these and now I am sitting idle at home,in between I joined family business but there I found that there is no work for me.I am just an extra guy over there.I don't have any extra curricular activity after my school life and my CV is very weak.I have applied for interviews of bank po but didnt got an interview call from them.I have wasted too much money of my parents and don't want to waste any further.my father wants me to join a coaching institute again in Delhi and start preparing but this time,i don't want money again as i belong from a middle class family and again i know my expenses will be high in Delhi so I don't want to go to Delhi.I will surely do an MBA from one of the best institutes as my dream is to be an entrepreneur after gaining corporate exposure but right now I am unable to decide what to do next in my Life.I want your help and valuable suggestions.
