hiii puys,i am kaushal.i have completed my graduation B.Tech(Biotechnology,biggest mistake of my life and also the biggest learning incident) in 2011.I gave CAT in 2010 and scored 63%ile,dropped one year,got a job in a fake company "Arjun Infoservice"(was told during placement that it is a marketing job and later came to know that its KPO job).After working for one week in June 2011,I left the job.I took coaching in TIME and prepared hard,cracked IBPS although score was only 136 and in CAT 2011,I scored 88%ile and although my acads were low(10-77,12-65,grad-7.03),I got calls from New IIMs and IITs.I got rejected in all these and now I am sitting idle at home,in between I joined family business but there I found that there is no work for me.I am just an extra guy over there.I don't have any extra curricular activity after my school life and my CV is very weak.I have applied for interviews of bank po but didnt got an interview call from them.I have wasted too much money of my parents and don't want to waste any further.my father wants me to join a coaching institute again in Delhi and start preparing but this time,i don't want money again as i belong from a middle class family and again i know my expenses will be high in Delhi so I don't want to go to Delhi.I will surely do an MBA from one of the best institutes as my dream is to be an entrepreneur after gaining corporate exposure but right now I am unable to decide what to do next in my Life.I want your help and valuable suggestions.
1-What can I do improving for extracurricular activities?

2 years gap (Coaching won't be considered at par with a normal job) may be difficult to justify. Try to get a proper full time job. In case you want to join a coaching, join in the BD side as a full time employee.
FORE is a good school. Unless you are aiming for top10 next year, it won't be a bad decision to join FORE.

Well I have seen people do that and only loss i felt was that they were not eligible for placement in that firm ..
Since you have less than 1 year work ex , it wont make much of a difference .

Since you already have a gap of 1 year , Fore is a good option as of now ..
But if you feel you can convert a better institute next year then why not , give CAT again and make it through ..
Its a very personal decision and depends on how much confidence you have in yourself ..

Its very difficult to say broadly speaking it can help in IT job or a Banking job after 2 years . Placement depends a lot on your interest , company criteria , batch profile etc ..

yes,i m 4m kolkata.i dnt knw abt mbm program but i knw that calcutta university is one of the best and reputed university of west bengal.for more info,you should google it.

post leaving job- had a couple of opportunities with finance firms(that is the kind of job i want, no more compromises), missed out by a whisker on both.currently jobless.
CAT- 3 tyms appeared with scores as 96, 98, 95.
Xat- 3 times appeared with scores as 87, 99.5x,97.xx.
convert this year- nmims (not joined)
dilemma- my gap period is increasing and it will affect me a lot. in 10 days it will be 6 months and the problem is that i am not even getting an interview call from the companies i have applied (all the kpos). my rough estimate is that i have applied to some 50+ kpos in our country, but to no avail.
after a rejection at one of the kpos at Noida, i was told by the HR that they really liked me. as at that time they preferred someone with prior work ex in analytics, so i missed out as the last rejected candidate but she told me that they will fix an interview with me as soon as my lock in period of 6 months gets over. it ended on 11th may, and i asked them about the possible second interview , and they replied currently there are no openings. so that door is also closed now.. i am getting nowhere with my job search and even my parents( even though how supportive they are) have started asking me out about my future plans.
possible ways for me are-
1. grind it out more, pick up a certification course (i will give cfa l1 in dec if i follow this way out) and prepare for CAT .my parents would support me , all they are asking is for me to tell them their decision.
2.join my fathers business (it is manufacturing of surgical instruments). but the problem here is that at present my fathers business deals predominately with manufacturing veterinary surgical instruments and he is utilizing all the capacity. if i join him, he would have to expand his business to the humans surgical instruments manufacturing. in this case i would have to bid adieu my mba dream for at least for 5 years, and even after that i would be pursuing an executivel mba degree from outside the country only. so all my joka\jampot dreams and dream of being a finance guy will end as soon as i enter my fathers business.
3. work on my b-plan. it has all the possibilities of working. it requires minimal investment , but the work involved for me alone is way more than a single guy can do even if he works 16 hours. and my friends and family are not ready at this moment to help me with it.( they are involved in their jobs, own work, etc, etc).
please suggest me which way to go about it.. i have thought about all the three possibilities a lot and i am still very confused..
P.S- i dont want to settle for mediocrity in my life, even if i am jobless right now. i wont go back to IT, i wont join a college except IIMABCLIK, XLRI,FMS. ( i am not against any other college , its just that i wont be happy joining any other college. it would not feel right, the same way it dint
feel right joining an IT company)

You profile is decent so don't worry about
- Regarding your banking experience since its less than 1 year , its not considered valuable by many firms but again depends on criteria of a company
- It surely is a value add and point of difference wrt to other profiles ...
- Finance companies value a profile based on the relevance to the profile offered ..
- You will have people with banking experience , CFA l1,l2 , FRM l1,l2 , financial services experience , so it depends on you batch also
- Finally your performance in 2 years of MBA matters too ..

I am working in a company in Ahmedabad . I am here from the april 2011 , I have signed a bond here till July 2012. According to that bond from my salary 10% will be deducted till july 2012 . Now suddenly I came to know that they are going to give me a pink sleep . so I told them that I want to resign and asked them what will I get ? they told me I will get my amount that was they were deducting 10% every months . So I resigned and when now the notice period is going to over they suddenly started to tell me that I am not eligible for salary as I am leaving the company before the agreement is over . I told them that you told me that i will get every amount . but they are denying to this ..
now I have some options like...
1) I should continue to july 2012 (for that I will have to take my resign back , is it legal? since I havent got any written reply from them , and they havent done my appraisal this time and salary I am getting is very low as per market value)
2) Should I take any legal action against them ? if yes, then how ? I have worked very hard to earn those money . I can not let them go .
P.S. My company is not registered , Every time we are asking for the form 16 they give us some PAN number .. and it is the working under the company which is registered but I seriously doubt my company's registration since they dont have any structured salary and strength is 16 people .
Please someone tell me what should I do ? since my notice period is going to over soon .
