Here's my situation:
Started B.com in 2007, now in Pune University pattern of B.com, there are 7 subjects in first year of which 2 have vivas. Vivas are held a month before the written exam. Unfortunately, my grandfather passed away the day before my vivas in first year so I was in no frame of mind to give them and plus at the time I was doing my CA also so I did not give them and had to drop a year. I gave the vivas in october 2008(I had cleared all my written papers in April so didn't have to give them in October)
Joined second year of B.com in 2009 and finished second and third year without any problem in 2011 with a first class result and 68%
Will this pose a problem for me in interviews? What if I am able to explain the reasons properly?
also, in pune uni, once you clear the backlogs, your marks are revaluated and you are presented with a new marksheet to show your viva marks also. In my original marksheet, there was no marks in the viva section and it was just written AB for absent. So when I show my documents to the college, do I have to include all marksheets or only the final one?

You should present both the marksheets. You finished a 3 years course in 4 years and if you present only the final marksheet, the college may think that you flunked. Presenting both the marksheets will help them know that you were 'absent' and then you can give your reasons.
Dropping a year in middle of a program is definitely a negative point. But if you get a good CAT score and your profile is good, it won't be a problem. Did you finish your CA (at least PE2). It will be a huge plus if you did.

I dunno wats d problem, as i can do the questions n im nt dat bad either. I have done Engg but some how my QA/DI sucks the most!!!
Recently i did get a job offfer frm a startup which wanted me to work as trainee for 6 month
But since my MBA performance cant b fully relied upon, im hell lot confused. Coz shld i apply to colleges which are in %ile group of 80-90 coz last year i scored 84.9 in CAT. My family is asking me to nt look for a job bt rather take w/e clg i get in CAT.
But i wanna take gud MBA clg rather then any clg.
I've also given CGL 2012 n cleared Tier1 but even if i clear n get a job in it, it wont be bfore next August n dat too nt guranteed in Delhi
So my to q all is: what do i do ???!?!

I can't tell you about everything you have asked. But will try.
Work harder in QA. More importantly, work smarter. Learn tips and tricks from forums or coaching centres.. Your mock percentile is not very bad and you can definitely improve it in the final tests. Also register for all possible tests so that it increases your chances.
There are some really good institutes in the 80-90 percentile range if at all you end up getting that. Apply to as many good colleges as possible.
Will the startup job increase the salary to market levels after the probation period? If not, it is not a good idea to join the startup because then it will take a lot of time to reach the salary level your peers are earning.

+ last tym i had joined coaching, dis tym i havent. I didnt want to waste my parents hard earned money on coaching again.....dat y

Well I didn't finish my CA, because I didn't want to. However, I have done 2 years of articleship(if that helps in the interview). The thing is, although I cleared all my written exams of first year, I couldn't give the vivas and therefore had to drop a year(could not register for second year). So I technically failed but not the entire year, just those two exams. A bit confusing to explain, would that really hamper my chances during the interview?

I have just a year's work experience and good scores in my 10th and 12th as well along with loads of extracurriculars including dramatics, choir, tennis, social work and I have done a couple of internships writing for a sports website. Suppose I get a really good SNAP score, will the issue of my dropping a year affect me during my Symbiosis interviews as well?
i am passing out next year(2013) around may-june and will be giving cat 2013....so will this be considered as academic gap??
will i have a problem due to this gap??

There are institutes like BIMTECH, IFMR, IIFM etc in this bracket. (Just check the latest info though, my knowledge is not up to date reg cut offs)

If the interview call is based on objective cut-offs and you get a chance to explain to the interviewers about your situation, then it's fine.

It will be considered a gap when you are applying for jobs. Whether you will have problems is another issue.

If a particular institute gives interview calls based on CAT score eg all applicants above 90%ile, then you will get the opportunity to attend the interview and explain your situation. If it is based on profile, they may or may not call you for the interview and you won't get a chance to explain your situation.

I'm in a strange situation.. I was working with TCS eServe as a SW Tester for around 1yr, then I completed my MMS Marketing (Passed out in 2012) and now working in a Digital Marketing firm.
My Question is bit weird, I did my MMS frm a tier 2 college (VESIMSR) and unfortunately passed in d slowdown hit economy.
Still I m keen on learning stuffs (As I really cant find major differences in me pre and post mba)
I'm confused in going for a further courses in Marketing from either US/UK/AUS or giving a shot at CAT 2013..
Can anyone of you suggest me some decent Marketing Related Course abroad (mainly in Advertisement/MassComm)

Since you have just finished a program, i would suggest that you work for few years before you start another program. Otherwise you would be just collecting degrees and not gaining anything in the process.
If you do not want to work, I would suggest you go to Financial Times ranking for 'Masters in Management' programs. These are designed for people with low work-ex and almost all have a specialization in marketing.
In case you work for sufficient amount of time, you can apply for MBA abroad.
I was born in year 1987 and working as Electronics Engineer in Dubai(Shipping Company). I am diploma holder and done BBA from distance.I am planning leave my job to start coaching for CAT exam in March,2013.I am going to change my career from an Engineer to an Executive and work in my home country and I am very much determined about doing MBA.
I have 2 years Experience, will it help in getting admissions in good B-Schools.
Please suggest me how to prepare to for CAT(2013) and any needful instructions.
I would be pleased if you guide me through this.
