write a request letter after you receive the GD/PI letter to SIOM for changing the location. Definetly it will be done. But please make sure you do it within 25th of Feb.

The average stipend running around for the summers is 8K. I CANNOT assure you in any point of time about the AVG Salary for final placement before dec'06.
Even I have left a very good job of an MNC drawing about 4.8L for SIOM. Life is all about risk. The beauty is how and what kind of risk you are taking.
Think about it.
1487 sold application forms sold out of which 1235 reached the institute well within time. and the balance 252 have not reached the institute in the stipulated time. and some have been returned due to wrong address. some students who might have thought that this is not a worth school might have not sent the forms.

first two will be done at the GD/PI venue and Diro interview will be at Nasik. So the cumulative of first two will be the elimination for the Diro Interview.

to all the aspirants of SIOM....please go through the previous posts i have made. i have written the whole of my interview experience. even the sort of technical questions i was asked are there. so prepare accordingly for interview. but for gd be prepared with the current affairs and other issues prevailing at the moment. we will if possible give u some topics for gds in few days and please dont depend on us completely.

to answer ur quiries...
1. date and venue for delhi center will be intimated later as soon as v get the info. and also u will receive a personal mail officialy from the insti. comming to dress code, for both GD n PI one has to be in full formals and clean shaved(for boys). the ideal dress code for boys would be clean and plain full sleve shirt, matching trouser with iron and formal shoes. if ur comfortable with tie better wear it. if not plzzz practies it at least from now.
2. GD may xtend up to 20-30min but PI depends. but it also may go up to 15-25min. regarding topics plzz reffer reddy's post.
3. there will be one GD and 2 rounds of interview one with pannel and last one with director.
4. no essay or any type of test will be there.
5. carry all ur original marks sheets, and any certificates if u have that u feel is importent or which depicts u as unique person. make sure that u have arranged all these cetificates in an order and in a decent file. i suggest u not to produce any certificate unless the pannel asks u to do so.
still if u feel something as importent and to be showen u can do that only if u create interview environment such that even if u produce it, it makes some sence. here i wanna say is "PLAY SAFE".

I got a doubt, if the gd/pi wud serve as elimination for director interview round then the process would take more than a day, Would it(director inteview) be directly after all gd/pis would be over or aftersome period of time?
Nashik is quite far from my place i.e ahmedabad, so i want to know weather it wud be required for me to stay overthere for few days or i can leave as my gd/pi is over.

since we are from south we are a bit confused with the names. actually i had a friend sonal and it was he. i dont know how many times i mentioned Mr. but just take it easy and be in ur salwars. dont frighten the panel with sarees. formal doesnt mean complete formald.

Congrats for SIOM. I think the list will be put up today on the website. The time says 5 pm so wait till around 8. Also try callin SIOM on Monday if the dates arent up till then.
Seniors , Do we have to go thru all the engg subjects (majority) or just going thru two three will get us thru. Comments.

frnds no need to go tro' ur engg. subjects in deep if u can just brush up wat u know now is sufficient. after all ur going to be managers not technicians no need to know every technical thing in detaile. i advice u all to update ur self with current trends. last year when i was in ur situation i use to watch NDTV and CNBC-TV apart from reading news papers and magazines. u can choose ur own channel to up date ur self. but make sure that ur going tro' some english news channels or papers.it helps a lot in communication.
one question for sure in PI would be to describe ur self. so be prepared for that. for this u better start with ur name, city and family background. then narrate abt ur educational background starting from ur latest degree to ur schooling. better mention ur college name if u feel that it makes u to sale.( i might be using peculiar term, but its all in game).if ur working start from ur latest position of ur job and ur role in that job and contributions if any.
then ur xtra curricular activities if any. and achivements
after all this tell some thing about ur strengths and very smartly weaknesses. ur hobbies only if it is meaning full. i mean don't mention hobbies like chatting and such stuffs. u must be ready to give ur intro for about 5-7mins. be praped with structure of the intro tat ur going to give.
make sure that u go tro' once ur application form that u have filled so that u prepare ur intro accordingly. wat ever u filled up in application has to match with wat ever u tell in PI.
plzzz keep in touch so that v guys can post regarding GD/PI when ever it flashes to us.

siom shdnt hav mentnd 5pm if they cant stick to it
anyway all indian b-shools hav same state
always 4-5 hrs late..hw can they boast of punctual disciplined managers
