thats good to have counter points and i feel even great to answer this.
iam going by points given by fundoo. all the information iam giving is from what i know and from my experience in this campus for 10 months.
1. when scmhrd was here placements for operations was extremely well as far as nashik campus is concerned. placements never used to happen at nashik and i dont know where form fundoo got the details. students used to commute to nashik even for summers.
2.why scmhrd moved to pune? its practically very difficult to maintain same institutes in 2 cities regarding the management issues. it was also difficult for students at 2 campuses and we know that they even had a cold war. even during placements this used to continue.
3. tilll now all the students placed for summers are from outside companies only and we didnt even ask companies like mahindra & mahindra, GSK, Siemens, Epcos or anyother multinational companies from nashik. the main reason being just to keep far the comments which have come now. nashik is a small highway town with just 3000+ companies and is the village which has got the maximum number of ISO 9000 certified companies in WORLD. true that it is not well connected to other places. we have to go to mumbai or pune. but still i have been to chennai only once after coming to SIOM. and mind u will not find time to go places.
4. summers the stats are true. being 1st year and starting in the month of december i think this is good. scmhrd's avg is also almost same but have done summers in the month of sept.

8.u can freak out but main gate closes at 10 on all days except on saturday (11).
9.symbi serves only veg.
10.our ratio is 56 : 7. if this matters, then its not the place.
current batch has got 6 students from NIT's all over india.
thanks fundoo for opting some other institute. this is also an oppurtunity for other aspirants to take decision.
any more queries, confirm before u pay a 6 digit figure to SIOM.

i met sm of the seniors.the batch strnght wud be incrsd to 120 by nxt yr.
ppl pls dnt take it negatively,but here is the truth.(dnt compare it with other symbi inst, all are almst same, except SIBM)..this is all first hand info.
1. When schmrd ws in ths campus placmnts whr really bad.
2. ppl dnt knw y schmrd moved out to pune..may b plcmnts??
3. nasik is small highway side town but has a good weather. but ppl wl be not that uptodate(they dnt no wht is internet). It isn well connctd with rest of india so expct only local compnis to recruit with sm additional outside compnis thru teleconfrcng.
4. summrs avg has been 5500 wt hgst of 10k..which is ok.
5. dont expect more than 4Lacs as the future avg. salary, boom in manf is still to come(welingkar had an avg sal of 3.6 till last yr with many in
6. campus is really small but defntly bggr than schmrd/siib/sitm whch r all in the same bldg.
7. life is nt that easy since ppl hav to visit yoga clss frm 630.day ends at 830 in the evening.applies to all symbi inst.but it is a mattr of adjstment.
8. cannot freak out at all,freedom not much since gates close at 10.
9. Hostel food is veg...ok,but no non veg..so one can add xtra food cst to 4.4Lacs.
10.Like any other inst in operations, dont expect girls on the campus.it will be near about 3:57.
My verdict-
Still an upcoming inst.lots of things lacking if u go according to facilities or infrastructure,
definitly wl take another 3-4yrs bfr it comes to at par with mdi and funding is needed for that,this future batch wud be btr than the currnt,the curnt batch doent hav students frm well to do engg. colleges..mostly frm colleges which hav partial/nil placements.
Suggestion-
Join SIOM n any other sysmbi inst. other than SIBM only if u want to do MBA this yr n u hav not much options n if u r not a pass out of a well to do engg college.
There can be exceptions!!
