Congrats for making into SIOM. Yes , it will be better to buy a laptop , but don't worry. Come to campus by the time of August & Sep there will be a mela in all Symbiosis College for Laptops. You get yours at a hefty discounted price.
Seniors I would like to know which bank is ready to provide loans. I remem direcor say that siom has tied up with SBI, is it true!! Also do give some input whether laptop will be prvided/ have it bring it of r own, some one had already enquired abt that. also on the pre-requirements in joining Oprns, any subjects to go thru b4 hand.

As far as loans are concerned, you can avail them from any nationalised bank in India. As I said earlier in one of my post, with the name of Symbi you will get loan approved immediately. I got it from Union Bank of India. Try the bank where you have accounts operated for atleast 6 months.
good to see the passion for siom. i think by now at least one positive result has come out...ppl joining the college wud hav expectation with skepticism..they wudn fly but rather be on grnd. i think the kind of heated healthy discussion that has come out definitely gud for the thread n gives a fair amt of idea to the ppl coming in. waitlist guys u can cheer up..i feel that all the waitlist ppl wud be in n there wud be another list of waitlist guys.

please dont BUY laptops. its my sincere advice. we are tied up with HP and we will be getting the best deals for laptops. after coming here u can decide on buying based on the deals. last years deal was 41000 + flash drive free for the machine actual worth above 60000. i dont know much about the config and so please contack Mr skylork.

regarding APICS, please give me some time as we can discuss later. very stressed now with the sem exams we have. and for me 5 innings continuously starting tuesday morn and afternoon.

hello pgites, It seems my warrior idea is being liked by few. So this way our batch will be known as batch of warriors instead of batch of 2006. Well thats the way it should be in todays world you need to be a warrior to survive be it any field. Mr Gagan Nema saale tu abhi bhi zinda hai tere ko del main bola tha SCIT bhag ja yahan teri seat kisi aur ko mil jayegi beta to campass main mil,do do jagah seat leke betha hai. On a serious note I feel SIOM will be better but you have to first decide whether you want to stick to IT field only or want to have other options as well. Baaki tu mil to sahi sab achi tarah samjha doonga. Seniors could you plz tell us what all we need to know before joining the college I mean any particular subject or anything in computer etc etc.
no subjects and no studies please. come fresh and dont confuse others with the knowledge u gain by doing like this. better come prepared to get assaulted. enjoy lots of movies. enjoy with ur parents. remember once u come here u will only go home (with peaceful mind) after u are placed for finals. reddy..

I have made up my mind ... surely SIOM is better than SCIT and .... doing IT(system ) will restrict me only to IT ..thus narrowing my scope... so... now its all done...

hello amit, even for our batch it was mentioned like tat in brochure but no medical fee was climed later even though complete medical check up was conducted. i don't thing they will charge u too. if at all the charge it maight be around Rs750/-. nothing to worry toomuch about tat. it will be like general check up.
Hey can anybody suggest whether it offers a good career for Manufacturing guys as most of this operation programmes are good for IT people only as they intended for them only
Mr md2005 ru sure tat wat ever u typed above is correct?(the question would have been more appropriate if the words "IT"and "Manufacturing" are interchanged in the query) in fact many concept of OM originated from manufacturing field later the same concept is applied in other service industries like IT.
