Tas 2010

Please PM me we can discuss a few things i believe

Hi !

I guess the space shall be sufficient.

Try and review your answers and make them crisp and brief.

As for any sheet attachment, i guess it shall not be entertained.

Make the best use of the additional info section.

I think that should do the trick.

All the best.

Hi Vaibhav,

It seems the space is very limited for the open-ended questions.
Esp. page 4 asks for 3 essay topics in 1 page and page 5 asks for 2 essays topics in 1 page - that too hand-written !!!

Are we allowed to attach extra sheets to answer these? If yes, what is the the general acceptable length of the expected answers?

Thanks.

vibsrathi I really appreciate the time you are taking to answer all these questions.

Can you tell me how much of a impact do appraisals make on your chances of making through

@metastate...I Have sent u a PM..plzz check

Hi Vaibhav

I am with TCS and have registered for TAS this year.
I want to know how important the ratings really are for the short-listing.
I have a decent gmat score with balanced sectionals but had a 3 rating in the last annual appraisal cycle. :(
Though have a 5 this year, I am worried that my last rating might have a negative impact on my overall-profile.

Thanks for your time!

Swaytha

Can anyone please provide me the phone number of TAS office and the concerned person.

Thanks in Advance.

Amit

Hi Metastate & swyatha_r,

TAS will look for a lot of factors to select candidates.

Therefore, if one is relatively weaker in an area, one can cope up by being excellent in another area.

I guess people with a rating of 3 and above have a fair chance, provided they have some good stuff to boast of in other areas.

Moreover since TCS has a relative grading system, "3" or a "4" is relative and not absolute.

A good appraisal would slightly enhance your chances, but will not be the sole reason for selection and vice versa.

IMO, they would look from a holistic perspective.

Go ahead and all the very best !

Quick question to all TCS guys who are going to submit the TAS form. How do we need to send it across to Nainaz Tengra? Do we need to mail her the hard copy? If yes, then whats the address where we need to send it?

Gaurav,

You need to send it to your local / ISU HR who would then forward it to Nainaz. Nainaz has already confirmed that she would not consider the forms directly sent to her.

Hey guys!

Im in US work for TCS. I am applying for TAS again, applied before in 2008 and had reached the final round. Waiting for the HR to confirm if i can apply again, she says she has an eligibility list to match all names against.

Has anyone received any confirmation from TAS/TCS for the eligibility after cut off was declared??

Also the HR asked to submit the form by Wednesday morning 3/24. Just curious if anyone else in US has been asked to do the same.

Good luck to all associates.

Ashu,

Does that mean that we have to submit the filled TAS form to out local HR by 25th?. I believe they will be taking care of all the rest of the things..

I have another query, What documents do we need to submit to TAS.. Only the TAS Form??. Is there anything else that we need to give it to the HR?

Hi,

I am also in US and got the same reply from my local HR. She said she will confirm by today and tell where to send the form if i am eligible and in the list. Did you heard any confirmation from your HR. Does anyone in US TCS got any confirmation mail after cutoff were declared?

Regarding the eligibility part: My HR didnt tell me anything as such. I was just asked to send in the filled form.

The deadline for submission to local HR is 24th. Ya they will take care of the rest.
There was no mention of any additional documents with the form. So I have just submitted the application form.

Well im not sure, i got the email my college did not!(however he had got an email frm TAS, verifying his employee id since they had a invalid id on his file). No need to worry i must say, maybe the HR took an additional step of letting ppl know what she expects from us along with the time lines. Its expected from her since she seems to be an exception to all HRs ive seen in TCS :)

at this point I would suggest just fill the form and send it, do not worry about the email.!
