IIT Delhi Overview

The Indian government has designated IIT Delhi as an "Institute of Eminence." It provides over 100 courses under the UG, PG, Dual, and Doctoral degrees. In addition to degree programs, the institute offers 8 certificate programs to UG and PG students. IIT Delhi's main campus in Hauz Delhi promotes all of the institute's major activities. Furthermore, the institute has two extension campuses, one in Sonepat and the other in Jhajjar.

The Haryana government established the IIT Delhi Sonepat campus in 2018. The campus is part of Technopark, which focuses on Executive MBA and Faculty Development programs for Haryana's engineering and technical colleges. The IIT Delhi Jhajjar campus, on the other hand, is located in Badsa Village.

IIT Delhi's major programs include engineering, physical sciences, management, humanities, and social sciences. Among these, the institute's flagship program is BTech. The JEE Advanced exam and participation in the JoSaa Counselling are used to determine admission to the program. The IIT Delhi cutoff for the BTech program is a JEE advanced rank between 1-100. Candidates qualifying for admission are charged INR 1,24,000 per semester.

Aside from these, the institute provides 8 certificate programs to UG and PG students. These online courses last approximately 6 months and cost between INR 50k and INR 1 Lac. IIT Delhi Overview

Students who graduate from IIT Delhi are placed in companies such as Microsoft, Intel, Oracle, Tata Projects, and others. Students who participate in IIT Delhi placements earn an average salary of INR 1.25 LPA. The highest possible salary package is INR 2 CPA. Deferred placements are available to students who do not participate in the placement process.

IIT Delhi offers deferred placements to students who want to start their own business after finishing their degree. If the start-up plan fails, the facility allows a student to return and use an institute's placement services. After choosing the deferred placement option, the student can participate in the placement process within two years.

IIT Delhi is one of India's top engineering institutes. It has been ranked by various national and international ranking agencies. IIT Delhi Scholarships

For UG, PG, and Ph.D. students, IIT Delhi provides a variety of scholarships, financial support, and teaching assistance. Students who meet the eligibility requirements can apply for the scholarships listed below.

Undergraduate Scholarship

Institute Free Studentship-UG: This scholarship is available to 10% of students. Scholarships are awarded solely based on income.
Institute Merit-cum-Means (MCM) Scholarship: This scholarship is available to approximately 25% of undergraduate engineering students. The scholarship includes INR 1000 per month in addition to a tuition fee waiver. To be eligible for this scholarship, parents' annual income must be less than $4.5 million.
Institute Merit Awards and Certifications: Up to the eighth and tenth semesters, the top 7% of B.Tech & B.Tech Dual Degree students are awarded INR 2500. Scholarship provision for SC/ST students: SC/ST students are exempt from tuition fees under this scholarship.
Donor Scholarships: These scholarships are made possible by grants from individuals and organizations.

Postgraduate Scholarship

Means-of-Merit (MCM) Scholarships: M.Sc students are given INR 1000 per month, but only if their parent's income is less than INR 4.5 LPA.
M.Tech., M.S. (Research), and M.Des. students at IIT Delhi receive a monthly stipend of INR 12,400 under the financial assistance scheme.
Candidates for the Ph.D. degree: Full-time students are eligible for a research assistantship worth INR 25000.

IIT Delhi Faculty

IIT Delhi faculty members include renowned poet and linguist Rukmini Bhaya Nair, the HOD of the Humanities Department, and experienced Stanford University faculty. Other faculty members at the institute, such as Prof. P. V. M Rao and Prof. Paresh Choksi, are well-known for their core course designs, live projects, and startup ideas.

With over 654 faculty members, the current faculty-to-student ratio is 1:8. In 2016, the faculty-to-student ratio was 1:16, and the institute expressed interest in promoting international students while declining the pressure to increase intake capacity. IIT Delhi Infrastructure

IIT Delhi has a technologically advanced campus that spans 325 acres of land. Apart from the main campus in Hauz Khas, the university has established two additional campuses in Sonepat and Jhajjar. Q. What is the MA program at IIT Delhi?

Ans. Minor/Interdisciplinary Area Specialization, also known as Minor Area Specialization, is available at IIT Delhi (MA).

When a student chooses such specialization and/or minor area, he or she may apply up to ten open categories (OC) credits (mandatory degree requirement) toward the specialization and/or minor area requirements. For example, a student enrolled in B.Tech (Chemical Engg.) who wants to minor in Computer Science can take minor-area courses as part of the mandatory 10 credits required by OC. He/she will need to complete an additional 10 credits to fulfill the Minor area requirements.

Ans. There are several ways to get to IIT Delhi, which are listed below:

Metro Line: The Hauz Khas metro station is the closest to IIT Delhi (Yellow Line). The metro station is 1.2 kilometers from the main gate of IIT. The main campus is easily accessible by car or bus. If you are traveling by car, the minimum fare charged by the driver is INR 20, and if you are traveling by bus, take bus no. 764.

The IIT gate is the closest bus stop to IIT Delhi. You can take an AC bus or a regular bus; the prices for both vary depending on the amenities provided. Travel only on DTC (Delhi Transport Corporation) buses because private buses tend to stop for long periods of time at each stop in order to pick up more passengers.
