Admission to IIT Gandhinagar
Admissions to IIT Gandhinagar 2022 are currently open. The list of candidates provisionally selected for written tests/interviews for MTech, PGDIIT, WS MTech, and PhD programmes is now available. The written exam or interviews are set for May 6-17. Candidates selected for Olympiad Training Camps can also apply for admission to the BTech programme. Candidates who meet the requirements can apply until May 31. Applications for international admission to the PG and PhD programmes are open until May 31.
Entrance exams will be used to determine IIT Gandhinagar admissions in 2022. The institute admits students to its BTech programme based on the results of the JEE Advanced exam, which is scheduled for July 3, 2022. The NTA has also announced the dates for the JEE Main 2022 exam. The JEE Main 2022 exam will be held on April 21-May 4, 2022, and May 24-29, 2022. The application period for JEE Main 2022 for the April session is open until March 31. GATE 2022 scores will be accepted for admission to the IIT Gandhinagar MTech programme. GATE 2022 results were released on March 16, along with GATE 2022 cut off marks. Aside from that, IIT Gandhinagar admits students to MA, M.Sc, Ph.D., PGDIIT, and Non-Degree programmes.

- JEE Advanced 2022 exam dates have been announced for IIT Gandhinagar BTech admission. The exam is set to take place on July 3, 2022.
- Application deadline for IIT Gandhinagar BTech admission (without JEE) is May 31, 2022.
- GATE 2022 exam results have been announced for IIT Gandhinagar M.Tech admission. MTech applications for IIT Gandhinagar will open soon.
- IIT Gandhinagar MSc Admission: The results of the IIT JAM 2022 were announced on March 17. Scorecards will be available beginning March 21.
- Early Admissions at IIT Gandhinagar: The application portal for Early Admit MTech, Early Admit MSc, and Early Admit PhD programmes is now closed.
- Candidates who applied before January 14- A list of candidates who have been shortlisted for final admissions has been released.
- Candidates who applied after January 14- A shortlist for the PI round will be announced on March 17 based on applications received.
- Foreign admissions at IIT Gandhinagar: For the academic year 2022-23, IITGN is accepting applications for Foreign admissions (Phase 1). The application deadline is March 24, 2022.

IIT Gandhinagar B.Tech Admission 2022
IIT Gandhinagar offers a four-year B.Tech programme in six specialisations, with 30 students enrolled in each. Admission to IIT Gandhinagar BTech programmes is done through JEE Advanced, which is followed by JoSAA counselling. The specialisations available in the BTech programme are listed below.

Eligibility for B.Tech at IIT Gandhinagar
- Candidates must have completed their 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as their main subjects.
- To apply for B.Tech, candidates must also have a valid JEE Advanced score.
B.Tech. Selection Criteria at IIT Gandhinagar
- Candidates must take the JEE Advanced exam to be admitted to B.Tech. programmes.
- Qualified candidates must register for JoSAA Counseling, which will be held in six rounds.
- Applicants must fill out and lock their choices during this counselling session.
- Seats will be assigned in each counselling round to students who meet the IIT Gandhinagar cutoffs.
- Applicants who meet the cutoffs will be chosen for admission to the B.Tech programme.
- The current year’s B.tech course cutoff is as follows:
JEE Main Qualifying Cutoff 2021 IIT admissions are based on JEE Advanced exam scores. Candidates who obtain the required minimum qualifying marks in the JEE Main examination are eligible to take the respected examination. The minimum qualifying marks for the Unreserved category (General category) are 87.992241, with a maximum of 100. Those who have obtained the minimum cutoff marks and are ranked less than 2.5 lakh can take the JEE Advanced 2022 exam. The following table shows the qualifying marks for each category:

How Do You Apply?
- To begin, candidates must register for the JEE Advanced exam for the B.Tech. course.
- Fill out the personal and academic information and upload scanned images of the candidate’s photograph and signature.
- Follow the online instructions to pay the application fee with a debit/credit card/net banking/UPI/PAYTM.
- Print the Confirmation Page after successful payment and keep it for future reference.
- Candidates must register for JoSAA after receiving their JEE Advanced results.
- Fill out the preferred options and save them.
- JoSAA is divided into six rounds, with seats assigned to eligible students in each round.
- Those who are happy with their seats must download the Allotment Letter and pay the seat acceptance fees.

Admission to IIT Gandhinagar M.Tech & PGDIIT 2022
IIT Gandhinagar admits students to M.Tech and PGDIIT programmes based on a written exam and an interview. Candidates are chosen for the written and oral examinations based on their academic record and GATE score. The final selection is based on all of the above factors, including academic record, GATE score, written test score, and interview performance.
M.Tech Eligibility Criteria at IIT Gandhinagar
- Pass a B.E./B.Tech./M.Sc. degree or its equivalent with a minimum of 55 percent (50 percent for SC/ST).
- Candidates must have a current GATE score.
- A GATE score is not required for aspirants applying for a part-time M.Tech or the PGDIIT programme.
- Candidates who have completed their B.Tech from IITs and have a above is not required to have a GATE score.
M.Tech Selection Criteria at IIT Gandhinagar
GATE exam score, Written Test, and Interview are among the M.Tech selection criteria at IIT Gandhinagar.
- Candidates must first take the GATE exam and achieve a high percentile score.
- The institute shortlists candidates for the written examination based on their GATE exam score after they have successfully cleared the GATE exam.
- After the written exam, the candidates are invited to the interview round.
- The GATE exam score, written test marks, and performance in the interview round are then used to create a final merit list.
Note: The institute considers the GATE exam cutoff for the written test during the initial shortlisting process. The GATE cutoff is shown below.
GATE 2022 Qualifying Marks
The qualifying cutoff for GATE 2022 is the minimum score required to register for COAP 2022 counselling. There is a distinction between the institute’s admission cutoff and the minimum cutoff required for participation in the admission process/counselling. The minimum cutoff marks that a candidate must achieve in order to qualify for the GATE examination and register for the corresponding counselling process are listed below.

M.Tech. Early Admit Program
IIT GN has an M.Tech Early Admit programme. This programme is available to B.Tech students from selected colleges who meet the eligibility criteria listed below.
- B.Tech. students from NITs and other select colleges who are graduating in 2021 or have graduated in 2020 and are among the top five rank holders in the department at the end of their pre-final year and final year.
- B.Tech. students from IITs (who will graduate in 2021 or who graduated in 2020) with a CPI/CGPA of at least 6.0 at the end of their third and fourth years.
Such candidates are chosen based on their previous academic performance, written tests, and/or personal interviews.
How Do You Apply?
- Visit IIT GN’s official website.
- Under the Admission tab, select the Apply button.
- Now, click on the application link for the desired course and complete the application form with all of the required information.
- Pay an application fee of INR 200/- (INR 100/- for SC/ST/PWD category) after completing the form.
- Complete and submit the application form.
- Following successful submission, the student will receive an application number and a link to download the application.
- Save the application for later use.

IIT Gandhinagar Postgraduate Admission 2022
Aside from M.Tech, IIT Gandhinagar also offers MA and M.Sc at the postgraduate level. M.Sc. programmes are available in four specialisations: chemistry, mathematics, physics, and cognitive science.
A master’s degree programme in Society and Culture is available. Both the M.A. and M.Sc. programmes last two years.

MA Selection Criteria
- Entrance exams and interviews are used to determine admission to the MA programme at IIT GN.
- Candidates will be invited to a written test and interview based on their previous academic record and aptitude for graduate study in humanities and social sciences.
- Academic records, aptitude for graduate studies, a written test, and an interview will all play a role in the final decision.
- IIT Gandhinagar may admit a few outstanding candidates based on their academic records without requiring them to take a written test and/or interview.
- The institute will host the entrance exam and interview round.
Early Admission M.Sc. Program
Early Admit M.Sc programmes in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics are available at IIT GN. This programme is for undergraduate students from selected colleges who meet the eligibility criteria listed below.

At IIT Gandhinagar, there are two Ph.D. admission categories:
- Regular – For candidates interested in full-time residential research.
- Continuing doctoral programme (CDP) – For working candidates or faculty members in any educational institution.
- Eligibility for Ph.D. at IIT Gandhinagar
- Candidates must have at least 55% or 5.5 CPI in their B.Tech/MA/M.Sc/M.Tech degree or its equivalent in the relevant discipline at the institute level.
Selection Criteria for IIT Gandhinagar Ph.D.
- Candidates for the Ph.D. programme are chosen through an interview and, if necessary, a written test.
- Based on their academic record, statement of purpose, and other factors, students may be called for a written test and/or an interview.
- The final decision is made based on the academic record, written test, and/or personal interview.
- Candidates who have received a GATE/SLET/CSIR-NET/UGC-NET/INSPIRE Fellowship are exempt from taking the written exam.
Begin Ph.D. Studies Early
Full-time residential Start Early Ph.D. Fellowship is available at IIT Gandhinagar. This fellowship allows B.Tech students to gain early admission to IIT Gandhinagar’s Ph.D. programmes. The following are the minimum requirements for this fellowship:
- B.Tech students from NITs and select colleges who will graduate in 2021 or have graduated in 2020 and are among the top 5 rank holders in their departments at the end of their pre-final and final years.
- BTech students from IITs who will graduate in 2021 or who graduated in 2020 with a CPI/CGPA of at least 6.0 at the end of their third and fourth years, respectively, are also eligible to apply.
Admission to the Start Early Ph.D. programme is based on previous academic performance, a written exam, and/or a personal interview.
Important Points:
GATE scores are not required for the Start Early Ph.D. Fellowship.
Monthly stipend of INR 41,000/- with a valid GATE score and INR 31,000/- without a GATE score.
How Do You Apply for a Ph.D.?
- Go to IIT Gandhinagar’s official website.
- Choose a Ph.D. programme from the Programs tab, which is located below Admissions.
- Now, select ‘Apply’ and then ‘Application Register’ by entering your information.
- After successfully registering, log in with your email address and password.
- Fill out the application form with all of your personal and qualification information.
- Pay the INR 200/- application fee (INR 100/- for SC/ST/PD applicants).
- Finally, turn in the application form.
- Candidates will receive an application number and a link to download the form after submitting their application.
- The application form must be saved by the applicant.
