Courses and Fee Structure at IIT Gandhinagar

At the UG and PG levels, IIT Gandhinagar offers a wide range of degree and non-degree courses. At the undergraduate level, the institute offers a four-year BTech programme with six specialisations. Students with a valid JEE Advanced score are eligible to apply to the BTech programme. IIT Gandhinagar offers two-year MTech, MSc, MA, and one-year PGDIIT programmes at the postgraduate level. Admission to these programmes is based on GATE, JAM, WAT, and interview rounds, in that order. IIT Gandhinagar has also made early admission into its MTech and M.Sc programmes available to BTech students from selected institutes. A work and study MTech programme is also available at IIT Gandhinagar for a three-year duration. At the research level, the institute also offers a PhD degree in a variety of specialisations.

BTech from IIT Gandhinagar

The BTech programme at IIT Gandhinagar is ranked 22 in the NIRF rankings for 2021. The programme has a total of 228 seats available. BTech programmes at IIT Gandhinagar can be tailored to meet the needs of individual students. IIT Gandhinagar allows students to graduate with honours or minors in specific disciplines, or with a major in another field. During their second year at the institute, students can also change their branch.

MTech from IIT Gandhinagar

IIT Gandhinagar provides a two-year MTech programme with eight specialisations. Admission to the MTech programme is available through GATE scores and the COAP counselling process. Interested candidates must have a GATE score between 500 and 750 in order to be admitted. The institute also charges a fee of INR 1.64 lakhs for its MTech programme. At IITGN, M.Tech courses are divided into three categories:

• 2 years for M.Tech (regular).
• MTech: 3 years of work and study

MTech students at IIT Gandhinagar can also pursue a one-year post-graduate diploma in engineering (PGDIIT) with no thesis requirements. The institute also offers a work and study MTech programme. This programme will also provide students with the opportunity to work with sophisticated equipment, laboratories, and research facilities while pursuing an MTech at IIT Gandhinagar. The programme is available in eight disciplines and follows the same admissions process as the MTech programme.
