SRM University Admission
SRM University offers a wide variety of courses for students who have passed the 10th, the 12th and also for Graduates and Post Graduates. For the undergraduates, it offers courses in various subjects like English to Biotechnology to Bharatnatyam.
Other than that, the university includes LLB and B.Com courses. Btech, as well as the Mtech, are also offered here for the interested candidates.
For medical, it covers a bachelor degree in Pharmacy and Optometry as well as the Post Graduation programme. The PhD programmes are also available in selected courses. SRM University application form can be downloaded from its website.

How to apply for SRM University?
- For the majority of the programmes, admission in SRM University Chennai is done through National level entrance examination conducted by the SRM University or authorized/statutory board or agency.
- For B.Tech programmes, SRMJEEE (UG), admission is done through an entrance exam for which the eligibility is 50% in the 10+2. However, the selection is based on the merit list that is prepared on the basis of the marks obtained in the entrance examination.
- Candidates will be invited for a counselling session in the order of merit based on marks secured in SRMJEEE (PG).
- SRM MBA admission is done through an entrance examination, valid score in GMAT, CAT 2019, MAT, XAT, TANCET, CMAT will be considered. Other details regarding SRM University MBA admission is provided on the website.
- For MBBS and BDS, NEET (UG) course and for MD, MS, MDS, DM and MCh, NEET (PG), exams are conducted and selection is done purely on the basis of that.
- For other courses, BASLP, B.Optom, B.Sc Medical Imaging, B.Sc Medical Lab, B.Sc Nursing, B.Sc Operation Theatre and Anaesthesia Technology, B.Sc Critical Care Technology, B.Sc Cardio – Pulmonary Perfusion, SRMJEEE (UG) is conducted and selection is purely done on the basis of the marks secured.
- For all the non-entrance based programs, the marks secured in (10+2) is considered as the selection criteria and merit lists are prepared on the basis of that.
- For Science & Humanities, admission is done based on fulfilling the requirement of minimum marks in the qualifying examination. Selection is subject to the merit.
- For Law, admission is done based on fulfilling the requirement of minimum marks in the qualifying examination and upon the BCI Norms, 10+2 (or Higher Secondary) or equivalent exam. Selection lies in the hands of the University.
- For PhD, Full Time and Part Time, Preliminary scrutinisation of all applications received through online will be done by the Directorate of Research and the eligibility is determined. The eligible students are called for an entrance exam at the respective campus of SRMIST. The entrance examination will either be a Computer-Based Test (CBT) or Paper-pencil. The syllabus for the Entrance Test may consist of 50% of research methodology and 50% shall be subject-specific. Selection henceforth will be based on the merit list prepared.

The University offers various kinds of specialization in fields like B.Tech as well as BBA, B.Optometry, B.Pharm, B.A, B.Sc and B.Com. Among the postgraduate courses offered by the University, M.Tech and MBA form the prime importance. Besides, other courses like the M.A in subjects ranging from English to Journalism are there.

SRM University Doctoral Admission Process
On the Ph.D. level, SRM University offers to its candidates degree courses in three different specializations – Engineering, Science & Humanities, and Management. Though the admissions are done on the basis of entrance examination, candidates with UGC-NET qualification can go for direct admission.
