A scholarship is an award which provides money to the students who promised to be meritorious. The monetary award is also offered based on the financial status of a student’s family.

The pivotal objective of a scholarship is to offer financial support to bright students so that the economic conditions would not be able to make conflicts in his way to continue further studies. In some exceptional cases, a minority caste candidate can avail scholarship facility as well. Several universities and private resources can contribute the monetary award to a student.

Besides being a provider of quality studies, Chandigarh University has taken some social responsibilities as well. Scholarships in Chandigarh University are offered for many students by the Government of Punjab and the university itself. There are some special criteria to avail of this scholarship.

Some of the scholarships provided by Chandigarh University are:

• Entrance test cum scholarship: The university organizes an entrance test each year to provide scholarships to aspiring students. The candidates who have scored more than 50% in their Higher Secondary exams can give the test. The students who perform well in the test will get complete fee concession in courses like UG courses.
• Merit scholarship: Students who have applied for the Engineering courses in Chandigarh University can get this scholarship. The candidates for this scholarship is determined by their merit score in the JEE exams. Fee concession is given to the students who have ranked within 25,000 in JEE Main.
• Sports Policy: Students who are studying the B.PED, B.A. and P.G.D.Y. programmes can avail this scholarship. The applicant must represent India at the International level and rank in the top three to get free hostel rooms and fees concession facility in Chandigarh University. Also, they will get INR 10,000 per month to maintain proper nutritious food in their diet chart.
