Tezpur University Scholarship
Tezpur University provides different scholarship, fellowship, and financial grants to students who have excelled in their academic background so that they can pursue their higher education and enhance their career in reputed organizations. There are also provisions for students belonging to an underprivileged category, SC/ST category, OBC category, etc. or anyone who is physically challenged.
The grants offered by the university is to promote the welfare of the students as well as society. The University of Tezpur has collaborated with several organizations and government departments to promote such cause and interest. Some of the scholarship, fellowship and financial programmes are mentioned below:
Scholarship 1: UGC Merit Scholarship is provided to students who are pursuing their Masters Degree course, and they belong to the SC/ST category.
Scholarship 2: UGC Merit Scholarship is given to the rank holders of the University.
Scholarship 3: Ishaan Uday Scholarship is offered to students who are pursuing their Bachelor’s Degree course, and they belong to the North-Eastern states of India. In the period of 9 months, an amount of Rs.7,800 per month is given to the technical students, while Rs. 5,400 per month is given to students from other courses.
Scholarship 4: Post Graduate Indira Gandhi Scholarship is offered to the single girl child or twin daughters of the family.
Scholarship 5: Post Matric Scholarship is provided to the students belonging to the SC/ST or OBC community under the various schemes of the Government.
Scholarship 6: Post Matric Scholarship scheme from the Welfare Board of Tea and Ex-Tea garden is also provided to the students of the University.
Scholarship 7: Post Matric Scholarship is provided to the students belonging to the minority community under the scheme of Government.
Scholarship 8: Merit-cum-Means Based Scholarship is given the students of different professional and technical courses from Ministry of Minority Affairs of Government of India.
Scholarship 9: Central Sector Scheme of Scholarship is provided to the students of undergraduate course by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. The scholarship provides financial aid to the bright students who have scored 80% in their HSC exams. The eligibility for this scholarship scheme is determined by the annual income of their parents, which must not exceed Rs.8,00,000/- annually.
Scholarship 10: The University of Tezpur provides financial aid to physically disabled students.
