Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University, popularly known as PDPU was established in 2007. GERMI (Gujarat Energy Research and Management Institute) was behind the commencement of this institute.

In 2018, the institute was granted autonomy by the Ministry of Human Resource Development. At that time, only two universities were autonomous.

PDPU Gandhinagar offers 16 engineering courses on different academic levels like undergraduate and postgraduate levels. A total of 37 courses are offered in the institute like B. Tech, BA, BSc, MBA and M. Tech courses in subjects like Petroleum Engineering, Energy and Infrastructure Management, Computer Engineering, Mass Communication etc.

PDPU ranking is 55th by National Institutional Ranking Framework in India. The institute is approved by University Grants Commission. NAAC has accredited grade ‘A’ to the PDPU.

The institute is also a member of AIU (Association of Indian Universities). PDPU faculty is a team of 105 members who run the institute under the guidance of Mukesh Ambani, the chairman of the institute. The dedicated and ambitious team of faculty members trains the students for the real competitive world.

Students are moved from darkness to light of knowledge with the faculty’s efforts. A total of 11 departments are present in the institute including Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Information and Communication Engineering, Science department etc.

PDPU Gandhinagar Admission Process

All the applicants become eligible for admission in UG, PG and doctorate courses on the basis of marks scored in the qualifying exam. The candidates require certain marks in order to get admitted to a particular course in the institute.

Candidates require certain JEE (Joint Entrance Exam) marks to get admitted to B. Tech course while M. Tech candidates require certain GATE (Graduate Aptitude Test Engineering) marks.

The PhD applicants require certain marks in the qualifying exam to get admission in this esteemed college. PDPU MBA is also offered in different sectors of Management studies at the postgraduate level of studies.

For admission in full-time M. Tech course, GATE score is considered.
For admission in full-time B. Tech course, JEE Mains score is considered.
For admission in the PhD course, qualifying exam marks are considered.

PDPU Gandhinagar Result and Cut-off

PDPU cutoff list is the main factor for admission in the B. Tech, M. Tech or PhD course in the institute. The Institute announces the cut-off list after the GATE or JEE exam results are declared for the year.

Candidates are required to cross the cut-off mark for admission in a particular course in the institute. B. Tech candidates are required to score equal to or more than the JEE cut-off score. Similarly, M.Tech candidates are required to cross the GATE cut-off score for admission in the course.

The cut-off score of the institute depends on a number of factors like a number of participating candidates, their highest scores in the qualifying exam, the difficulty level of the exam and the number of seats available in the Institute for all the courses.

PDPU Gandhinagar Scholarships

PDPU provides scholarships to the deserving and needy students. Merit cum means scholarship is provided to the meritorious and poor students who are Below the Poverty Line (BPL).

Special scholarships for students are available in which tuition fee waiver of all semesters takes place. Physically challenged and disabled students are also provided with scholarships in the form of the tuition fee waiver, financial aid and exemption of a part of fees.

PDPU Ahmedabad offers many facilities to its students for a nice experience in their academic journey. PDPU address is about 14 km away from the Ahmedabad Airport and 21 km from Ahmedabad's Kalupur Railway Station.

PDPU Library and Information Center in PDPU campus is updated with a user-friendly software package. This software provides speedy access to e-books, CDs and journals from anywhere in the world. The laboratory has all the essential equipment for research and experiments.

PDPU Gandhinagar Admission Process

Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University, which is also known as PDPU Gujarat was established in 2007. It was founded under the PDPU Act, a legislature passed by Gujarat state assembly.

Admission to the undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral level courses is done based on the entrance exam scores followed by counselling.

PDPU Gandhinagar Admission Highlights

For PDPU admission 2018 in Undergraduate level B.Tech, the process is conducted through JEE main followed by counselling. All applicants need to pass the 12th level examination or its equivalent with the subjects like Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry to be eligible for the course.

For Postgraduate level M.tech courses, candidates are given admission based on GATE score. All applicants need to have B.E. or B.Tech or an equivalent degree in a relevant stream for which the candidates are willing to apply.

For doctoral-level courses, candidates are selected based on the Research Aptitude Test or RAT followed by an interview. Candidates having 55% in M.Tech or M.E. or M.Sc. or M.Sc.(Tech.) or its equivalent degree from any recognized university in the appropriate discipline is eligible to apply for the course. SC or ST or reserved Category candidates can apply with a minimum of 50% aggregate.

Pandit Deendayal Petroleum University, which is also known as PDPU is one of the best private universities for Engineering studies in India. It is located in Gandhinagar, Gujarat, India.

It was established on April 4, 2007, by GERMI. All courses provided by the Institute are approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC).

Admission to the undergraduate level B.tech is done on the basis of rank secured in the Joint Entrance Examination or JEE Main conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education or CBSE. Hence, PDPU cut off is declared after JEE Mains scores are released.
